CARE PACKAGES AND COFFEE FOR JOHNAND HIS TROOPS
Care packages will be sent on a regular basis so youmay bring your items to the Prayer tent in theFellowship Hall on Sundays or drop them off in thechurch office during the week. SANCTUARY CHOIR IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS!
Sanctuary choir rehearsals have been moved toSunday mornings from 9-10:15 a.m. and will meet inthe Sanctuary. There will be time for those who wish toattend Sunday School to leave and do so, and a reviewof each Sunday's anthem for those who attend 8:30worship and come later to choir. The idea is to allow anopportunity for more people to be involved with SundayMorning Choir. During this experiment, there will be noWednesday evening rehearsals. At 6:00 p.m., children and youth will have their activities while the adults gathertogether to grow deeper in our relationship with God and others. We will be lookingat what it means to be part of a community group; foundational points of showing up,joining in, pursuing God, and being real in our community of faith at large. MISSIONS AND EVANGELISM
AUGUST MONTHLY MISSIONThis month in August, we will be highlighting the Meridian District Ramp (VIM)Ministry. (RIM stands for A Volunteer in Mission) The District Ramp Ministry'sgoal is to make a difference one ramp at a time for men, women, and childrenwho are elderly or disabled. The district ministry serves five counties:Lauderdale, Newton, Kemper, Neshoba, and Clarke. BUT THEY NEEDVOLUNTEERS. The volunteer help has rapidly declined. Volunteers areneeded to dedicate one morning a week, and without more volunteers, theministry itself may not be able to continue. You do not have to be anexperienced builder, your time and presence is needed. Jerry Fox, who is thehead of the VIM Ramp Ministry recently said, “there are never too manypeople. When it is 90 plus degrees and the vast majority of our workers arein their 60's and 70's, you can’t have too many workers.”
The ramps are built at no cost to those who cannot pay. Some financialsupport is given through donations, churches, and miscellaneousorganizations. Please contact Kristina Crabtree at 601.513.1868 or email herat [email protected] if you have questions or would like to volunteer.

1ST GRADE BIBLE PRESENTATION willbe held during the
8:30 and 10:55 worship services.
BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS will be held duringthe 8:30 and 10:55 worship services. Students of all agesare encouraged to bring their backpacks and receive ablessing for the 2015 - 2016 school year.
PARENT ORIENTATION is for parents of ALL rising students, Kindergartenthru 5th grade. Parents are asked to be present for our Fall Orientation at 9:35a.m. on Sunday, August 9th in the 11th Street Gym. During this time you will beasked to update/fill out a student information sheet, learn about programmingand special events for the fall and spring as well as an opportunity to askquestions about our Children's Ministry at Central. Please make this meeting apriority for you and your family. Students will come to the gym with parents andthen go to the Cinema for their first fall rotation as we kick off Sunday Schoolwith Elijah! Kindergarten students will go to their regular classes in thePre-school area, but parents are asked to be in the 11th Street Gym no laterthan 9:45 a.m.
