Meet Our Cover Artist Francine Lanoie was born in Quebec and moved to BC 22 years ago, first to Kamloops, then to Revelstoke two years ago. Self-taught, she has been painting on and off for many years but recently started exploring and playing more with it full time. No subject is off limits if there is inspiration to be found! Working mostly from acrylics, she also enjoys working with oils and watercolour, depending on the subject matter. You can email her at [email protected]

to find out where you can see more of her artwork.

PLEASE NOTE: The City of Revelstoke through Council support

will continue to offer free annual recreation passes and 50% subsidy on certain recreation programs to low income residents. Look for the City of Revelstoke logo for programs that qualify for a subsidy.

The Benefits of Aqua Fit People who participate in classes are enjoying the challenge and rewards of the water. The amount of impact on bones and joints is less than land exercises due to buoyancy. People with fragile bones or arthritic joints can benefit reduced impact in the aquatic environment. Performing exercises in chest deep water suspended work with some impact it can assist in maintenance of bone mass. The multi-directional resistance provided by water causes the muscle to pull on the bone. This loading can maintain or increase bone mass.

So what are you waiting for? No excuses! Come out and enjoy the benefits of

Wednesday Flow: Inspired by traditional Hatha Yoga, Wednesday classes will introduce and refine breath awareness, proper alignment for foundational postures, and linking breath with movement. This gentle class will move at a slow pace with clear, detailed instruction. Modifications will be offered to accommodate individual variances so that all participants can safely experience the benefits this practice has to offer. Join this class to build strength & flexibility, improve concentration & co-ordination, and balance body & mind.

Friday Yin: Often called ‘Joint Yoga’, Yin involves longer held stretches targeting the deeper connective tissues in our joints - primarily the hips and spine. As we age our fascia tightens and restricts our range of motion and joint mobility. Due to the amount of stress and chaos inherent in our everyday lives we also tend to lose our ability to remain focused, calm, and present. Join this class to improve flexibility, joint health, & vitality, move with greater ease, help manage stress & calm the mind.

Helios Rehabilitation & Performance

“ Co re” Circu it: This class will focus on core strengthening, upper and lower body muscle training, and cardiovascular conditioning. The intensity will be set by you and there are many options for progressions as the weeks go on. For those who don’t feel like they are at the top of their game this circuit will help you ”get up and go”. This circuit will progress into Hard “Core” Circuit if you are interested in continuing your training.

H a rd “ Co re” Circuit : This is our traditional pre season circuit for those looking to get in shape for their favorite winter activities. This conditioning 6 week program will run from the middle of October until the end of November, preparing you for the winter season.

In addition to the Spring House League soccer program, RYSA also supports a Development / Rep Program. The objective of this program is to encourage further skill and technical abilities at a level beyond the House program.
