We say things like:´our church meets for worship at 10:30.µ Or ´Worship starts at8am.µ Sometimes we are talking about the style of music. We tend to compartmentalize this part of our walk with Jesus in away that Paul would find frustrating. In Romans 12:1 Paulwrites: ´I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies ofGod, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.µLast week we talked about worship as a response to God, whoHe is and what He has done. Paul tells us the acceptable response to God, in view of His mercies toward us is tosurrender our lives as a living sacrifice. Paul defines this asspiritual worship. It is not about an hour on Sunday, orhymns, praise choruses, contemporary, or any other category. It is about seeing God and in response, unconditionallysurrendering to serve Him forever. Worship is not a music style. It is a lifestyle. Lord, lead us to the cross, where we may again lay down ourlives, and take up a li fe lived in worship to you. Amen
