The summer months always fly by so much faster than the winter months. My daughter will be starting Kindergarten this year, so this time is especially bittersweet for me. Sum- mertime is my favorite time of year, but in Extension we don’t get much time to slow down. This last month we passed out over 400 Senior Farmers Market vouchers. Don’t forget to visit our Farmers Markets. The Grayson Market is in the shed behind the Extension Office. It is opened Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 8am-1pm (or sold out). The Olive Hill Market is in the Save a lot parking lot. It’s opened Wednesdays and Saturdays 8am-1pm and Monday evenings 3pm-until sold out. In July I started the 12 month program “Keys to Embracing Aging” at the Chapel and Friendship House, taught a two day series on parenting at the Grahn School Community Center Family Literacy Camp, and hosted the third annual “ Day Out With Dad” pro- gram! I would like to thank all of the Day Out with Dad volunteers, commu- nity partners, and participants! I would like to give special thanks and recognition to the Carter Caves and the Grayson Day Homemak- er’s clubs for your generous donations for 4H camp scholarships! I have been told that Linda Bur- ton still has some pecans left over from the Homemaker’s fundraiser. If you would like some, please contact her at 286-2193. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions, suggestions, or ideas! Thank you for all that you do!
