Host of the 2017 International Jaguar Festival This is really great, so please read this. During this time of Covid, several members have expressed concerns about attending our Judges Training on August 15th. We would still like to have other models available, XK 120 – 140, etc. If everyone completes their test prior to August 15th, the review should take fewer than 2 hours, and then we can get to the fun part: playing with our cars! Along with the arrival of the hot humid Georgia summer came news that the Norcross British Car Fayre and the Chattanooga Concours have cancelled due to the current virus concerns. On a positive note we are still planning on hosting our nineteenth annual NGJC Concours on Sunday, October 25. Our Concours is one of our best attended club events and Roy Cleveland has worked with the Chattahoochee Country Club to create outdoor dining opportunities that will ensure good social distancing for our club members and guests. Concours 2020 Registration Opens August 1ST!Submitted by Terry Mathewson

The North Georgia Jaguar Club will be holding our annual Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Chattahoochee Country Club, which is located at 3000 Club Drive, Gainesville, GA 30506, on the shores of beautiful Lake Sidney Lanier. There are a few changes this year, so please read on! Brunch this year will be a pork barbecue with sides and desert that will be served in the pavilion adjacent to the main club dining room. Food selection this year was decided based on COVID virus concerns, and recommendations from the Country Club meal planners. The pavilion is open on the sides and should provide adequate distancing from others. The dining room will be available as well for those who prefer to dine there. As previously stated, cars will be judged and awards given in Championship and Driven Divisions, but Display only cars are especially urged to attend! Due to limitations on qualified judges, and our desire to stay within a specific time frame to complete judging, there may be limits on the number of cars within each class that we will be able to judge. So, get your registration in early! Registration opens August 1, 2020, and will close October 1, 2020. The following link will take you to the online entry form. (Please note, for a variety of reasons we have elected to do all registration and

payments online this year!)http://www.ngjc.us/Calendar%20

of%20Events.html(This site can also be reached by going to www.ngjc.us selecting the Calendar tab, and scrolling to the October 25th

This block of rooms is being held under the name North Georgia Jaguar Club. The discounted room rate is $109.00 nightly, and the room charge includes breakfast Sunday morning. These rooms will be held until October 1st. Make your reservation early to be sure to secure a room at the quoted rate! The following link will take you directly to reservations for our block of rooms. Hosted by Jaguar designers, the four-part series follows the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE through the initial design stages. Jaguar is giving insight into its design process with a series of masterclass films produced to encourage creativity and skills development at home. Hosted by Jaguar designers, the four-part series follows the progress of the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE through the initial design stages, with expert advice and tips from each of the disciplines featured in the films. Just like in the design studio, the process begins with sketching. Chief Creative Designer Dominic Najafi gives a tutorial on sketching the I-PACE with a pencil and paper before handing over to Matthew Beaven, Chief Exterior Designer, who then transforms the preliminary sketch idea into a professional digital render using Photoshop.

The third film follows Chris Scholes, Senior Alias Modeller as he creates an exterior design proposal, taking the 2D digital render and developing it into 3D surfaces using Autodesk Alias software. Finally, CG Artist Elliot Brett from the Design Visualization team brings the I-PACE to life, detailing how it is taken from storyboard through to animation. All four films are available to view now starting with Episode 1:

The 2020 Atlanta British Car Fayre Has Been Cancelled And Will Return In 2021

The 2020 annual Atlanta British Car Fayre in Norcross has been cancelled. The organizers along with the City of Norcross believe this to be the responsible decision in light of the continuing Coronavirus crisis. The Atlanta British Car Fayre has enjoyed 19 continuous years of successful shows that have become the largest British Car Show in the SE. The Atlanta British Car Fayre now attracts up to 400 entries and 20,000 visitors to historic downtown Norcross.

Maybe hidden amongst the success of these shows is the fact that all of the proits generated from each show are donated to the charity that we support, the Amanda Riley Foundation. The Amanda Riley Foundation uses 100% of all monies received to support children in the Atlanta area who have been hospitalized with cancer. The money is not only spent on the children, but also to support the financially strapped families that have to sacrifice to be with their children. The Atlanta British Car Fayre

Highlands Motoring Festival is hosting “One Lap Around the Mountains” tours on Friday and Saturday, September 11 and 12 with a “High Octane in the Park”, at Kelsey Hutchinson Park, (free non-judged car show) on Sunday September 13. Information and registration at www.highlandsmotoringfestival.com Foundation President, Knight Martorell, stated “every effort should be made to fundraise for HMF charities in their time of greatest need”. To that end, Highlands Motoring Foundation will be hosting these events in lieu of the normal schedule of festival events.

Southeast British Car Festival, Dillard, GA., Saturday, September 19. This Saturday show is the highlight of a three day gathering sponsored by the MG Registry and open to all British marques. Class Awards are featured. Dillard is an easy morning drive and the cars are staged on a grass area with the beautiful north Georgia mountains in the background. Food and awards banquet

also available. Information and registration at Peachtree MG Registry https://pmgr.clubexpress.com/. “We plan to provide you with a great and safe British car show during these strangest of times in 2020. As we continue to update our plans for the show, COVID-19 continues to be a central issue, but we and the Dillard House have plans in place to ensure we can host the event with your safety in mind, barring any additional

restrictions by the Governor. Our plans include following the recommended health precautions and screening as outlined by the Georgia Department of Health and the CDC. The Dillard House is excited to host our show and they have in place the COVID-19 recommendations for their facility. They also have excellent options to

accommodate our expected group size for meals and stay within all COVID-19 guidelines. “If circumstances change with COVID-19 restrictions and we must cancel the entire event, refunds will be processed. Ultimately, the decision to attend Dillard 2020 is yours, but we hope you will register. We look forward to seeing you there!
