Abraham
Did It
Again
As our Bible Study class returns to the book of
Genesis (20:1-18), we find Abraham sojourning
in the desert west of the Dead Sea. He's not
sure whether the "natives" are friendly, so he
convinces his wife, Sarah, to tell the people of
the land that she is his sister. He's fearful that if
she is known to be his wife that he would be
killed in order to get Sarah.
This is the second time Abraham has
used this lie. Or, is it a lie? It's strange behavior
for someone God has chosen to be the patri-
arch of God's "chosen people." It's a fascinat-
ing story. We invite you to join us Sunday at
9:30.
