Woman' will be our focus of study for 11 weeks.
We take an in-depth and very personal examinationof this great story of threat and deliverance. Bethpeels back the layers of history and shows how verycontemporary and applicable the story of Esther isto our lives. If you've ever felt inadequate,threatened, or pushed into situations that seemedoverpowering, this is the study for you. Just as itwas tough being a woman in Esther's day, it is
tough today. This portion of God's Word containstreasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, andpressured lives.

BASKET RAFFLE UPDATE
Thanks to everyone who boughttickets for the upcoming BasketRaffle for the Second Annual RegeHarbison, Sr. Memorial Golf Tournament.
All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the
American Cancer Society through CranberryTownship‘s Relay For Life.
If you wanted to buy tickets but missed theopportunity when they were on sale at Hope, wewill be selling them one last time at the Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 21. Thewinning tickets will be drawn at the end of the golf tournament. Good luck to everyone and thanks again for your support!
Get ready for a full slate of activities this fall asmembers of Hope begin the new church year withRally Day on Sunday, September 12, 2010, when
all the kids head back to Sunday school and theannual church picnic takes place in Cranberry. Details will follow from the picnic committee, so
stay tuned!
Fall also brings a few updates to our weeklyschedule of church services at Hope.
An 8 a.m. service, which will last about 45minutes, will begin on Sunday, September 12,and will be a ―Traditional Liturgical Service.‖
The 9 a.m. service will be a ―Blended /
Contemporary Liturgical Service‖ meaning thatmembers will see a mix of newer music in thefamily-oriented service, while maintaining thechildren‘s sermon and traditional gospel.
The 5 p.m. Saturday service and 11 a.m. servicewill continue as they have in the past with theSaturday service being a ―Soft, Reflective, andTraditional Liturgical Service‖ and the 11 a.m.
will cotinue as the ―(High) Traditional
Liturgical Service.‖
We look forward to seeing everyone back fromvacations and into the routine again!

operations. Volunteers sort and pack needed
medical supplies for shipment to hospitals serving
the poor in developing countries.
Some volunteers check equipment or help with
paperwork. More than 65% of the medical supplies
Global Links sends overseas are packed by
volunteers.
Our next to volunteer opportunity is Saturday,August 28. We will meet at Panera‘s at 9 a.m. for aquick breakfast and fellowship and then carpool toPittsburgh where we will pack supplies from 10a.m. to 12 p.m. Then back to Panera‘s by 12:40p.m. Please consider giving your time.

Couples Seminar & Workshop(Formerly Pre Cana of Western PA)
Couples who are contemplating marriage orengaged (even those married 1 year or less) are
invited to share this special day together. It is aquiet day designed to give couples a chance toconcentrate on one another, to explore strengths andweaknesses, ambitions and goals and to improvecommunication.
This one day workshop has been strengtheningrelationships by teaching communication skills toengaged couples for 22 years and is recommendedby pastors of many Christian denominations as partof their pre-marriage preparations. A $45/couple
registration fee covers 3 meals and workshopmaterials. Next date is Saturday October 2 atCommunity United Methodist Church, Irwin (Harrison City).
