Question 1 – Are you male or female? We asked this question to find out if our audience matched the typical horror film audience.

75% of the people who answered the questionnaire are male. This supports our predictions because men stereotypically enjoy horror films more than women. However, the large majority of male audience members may indicate that the results are biased.

Question 2 – What is your age?

Similar to the previous question, we asked this question to find out if our audience is the same as the typical audience of other horror films.

55% of the people who answered are aged between 15 and 18 years old. This is our intended audience, because our film would not have any gore, nudity or swearing, it would only have mild violence and scary themes, none of which are in the trailer itself. As with the previous question, our results may be biased, as this age group is the same as ours, indicating that we mostly asked people of our own age, instead of a random sample of people.

Question 3 – Which of these films do you enjoy? We asked this question to find out which film is most popular. Each of the films have their own style, i.e. “Scream” is more of a slasher film, while “The Conjuring” is more supernatural. Most of the people we asked liked “Scream”. At 55%, I think this is the most popular option because it is arguably the most famous and iconic horror film out of the other options. Alternatively, I think Insidious and “The Forest” were not as popular because they were not as famous, partly due to the fact that they do are not part of a franchise, whereas Scream had multiple sequels.

Question 4 – Do you typically enjoy horror films? This was an important question, as we needed to know how many people were fans of the general horror genre before we asked if they would be interested in watching our horror film.On this question, we saw an even split between people who enjoy horror films and people who don’t. The ideal result would be that everyone enjoys horror films, as this would mean we would have a larger potential audience, but this is not the case.

Question 5 – After looking at our storyboard, would you be interested in watching our horror film?We asked this question because we wanted to know if people would be interested in watching our film if we were to release the whole film.55% of people would want to watch our film. However, these results may be biased because we asked people we know, who may have answered politely, instead of truthfully.
