General rights under the ACL

The benefits conferred by the following warranties are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranties relate.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or re-placed if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Audi Approved :plus Pre-owned Vehicle Warranty

This warranty applies to Audi Approved :plus vehicles and may operate in conjunction with the Audi New Vehicle Warranty to ensure that you receive not less than 24 months warranty coverage under the Audi New Vehicle Warranty and this Audi Approved :plus Warranty. If your Audi Approved :plus vehicle is less than 3 years old, Audi Approved :plus Warranty period commences on the 3rd anniversary of the Audi New Vehicle Warranty, and endures for the term designated by the following calculation:

AAPWT = 730 – ANVWB (expressed in days)

Where AAPWT means the Audi Approved :plus Warranty Term; and ANVWB means the remaining term of the Audi New Vehicle Warranty calculated from the day on which you are first registered or first delivered your Audi Approved :plus vehicle.

If your Audi Approved :plus vehicle is less than 3 years old, your Audi Approved :plus Warranty period commences on the day on which you are first registered or first delivered your Audi Approved :plus vehicle and expires 2 years after that date.

Audi Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 86 077 092 776) warrants that: If despite proper driver treatment and proper prescribed maintenance defects in original material or manufacture occur in this vehicle during your Audi Approved :plus Warranty, then any Authorised Audi Dealer will rectify such defects free of charge.

Audi does not accept liability for any item which failed due to normal wear and tear, driver abuse or unauthorised modifications nor for any defect in material or manufacture, or from the non-professional repair or maintenance of the vehicle. Not all repair, adjustments and replacements result from defects in materials or manufacture.

There are other circumstances which may make a repair necessary and for which a charge maybe made by an Authorised Audi Dealer. This depends mainly on where and how the vehicle issued and includes weather and atmospheric conditions, road surfaces, your driving habits, vehicle usage and frequency of servicing.

Audi Approved :plus Pre-owned Vehicle Warranty Explanations

Natural wear and damage caused by abnormally rough or improper use or unauthorised modifications which cause damage are not covered by this warranty.

Corrosion Perforation

Your Audi Approved :plus vehicle has the benefit of the Audi New Vehicle Warranty including corrosion perforation protection warranty (but is subject to its limitations and exclusions). It is not covered or extended under this Audi Approved :plus Warranty.

Body and Paintwork

Body and paintwork is only warranted for the first 3 years from the New Vehicle Warranty start date and is not extended as part of the Audi Approved :plus Warranty Program.

Audi Approved :plus Vehicle Exclusions

The Audi Approved :plus Warranty will not apply if: The vehicle is being used for hire, car

sharing, driver instruction or conveyance of passengers for fare or reward.

Sold for use as a rental vehicle. The vehicle is being used as a Police or

emergency vehicle. The vehicle has been modified from Audi’s

original specifications. The vehicle is being used outside Australia. The vehicle is being used for courier

purposes, on mining sites and / or mail delivery services.

If the vehicle was not imported into Australia by Audi Australia or its authorised distributors.

Warranty Validation

This warranty is only valid for vehicles sold and used in Australia.

Any Authorised Audi Dealer can attend to any defect in original material or manufacture within the warranty period.

However, the owner of the vehicle is responsible to ensure that the vehicle is serviced in accordance with the Service Schedule outlined in your owner’s manual booklet. Damage of defects relating to improper service or lack of service will not be accepted under the terms of this warranty. Any consequential, direct or incidental loss or damage is not covered under the terms of this warranty. It is your responsibility to provide the vehicle for repairs.

Warranty may not apply if the following conditions exist at any time: If the vehicle has not been serviced &

maintained as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.

If the defects are due to modifications not approved by Audi.

If the defects are caused by abuse or negligence.

If the vehicle is or has been bought or sold at auction.

If the vehicle isn’t purchased through an Audi Approved :plus retail dealer.

If the vehicle has been written off by any insurance company.

Accidents. Defects caused by work carried out by

repairers other than Authorised Audi Dealers or approved repairers.

If the defects are due to installation or use of non-genuine parts.

If the vehicle has been loaded beyond the manufacturer’s specifications.

If the defect is due to the vehicle being used for purposes for which it was not designed, such as rallying, racing, hill climbing, speed trials or similar activities, towing

beyond weight limits recommended by the company or all terrain use.

Deterioration due to use and exposure and or damage / corrosion from environmental conditions such as fall-out, salt, stones, tree sap, bird droppings, hail, flood or acts of God.

What is covered

Coverage: this warranty covers repairs to correct a defect in original material or workmanship. This warranty does not cover wear and tear.

Procedure for Claiming under the Warranty: in order to claim under this warranty, you must, at your expense, present your vehicle together with this booklet and your AudiCare A+ card to an Authorised Audi Dealer in Australia. A list of Authorised Audi Dealers can be found at audi.com.au or by calling 1800 502 834.

Free-of-Charge Repair: repairs under this warranty are free of charge. Your Authorised Audi Dealer will repair the defective part or replace it with a new or remanufactured Genuine Audi Part.

Emergency Repairs: if an emergency repair was performed by a non-Audi service facility, keep all receipts, repair orders and parts removed from your Audi. If possible, your regular Authorised Audi Dealer should be advised of any emergency repair work before it commences.

You will be reimbursed if the repair work was needed and correctly performed and it was impossible or unreasonable under the circumstances to tow or drive your Audi to the nearest Authorised Audi Dealer.

A statement on the circumstances that prevented you from getting to an Authorised Audi Dealer, together with the paid receipts, repair orders and replaced parts must be submitted to your Authorised Audi Dealer for reimbursement processing.

What is not covered

Maintenance Services and Service Adjustments: this warranty does not cover the cost of parts and labour involved in any scheduled maintenance service.This warranty does not cover the replacement of filters, lubricants or fluids unless their re-placement is a necessary part of a warranty service on a covered component.

The warranty does not cover wheel alignments and balancing, brake adjustments or mechanical repairs which become necessary as a result of normal wear and tear. Adjustments are minor repairs not usually associated with the replacement of parts, such as but not limited to rattles and headlight adjustments.

Wear and Tear Items (for example / including but not limit to): this warranty does not cover the replacement of clutch linings, brake discs, brake pads, windshield wiper blades, incandescent bulbs, fuses, worn seat covers and other trim and appearance items that wear tyres out through normal use or deterioration.

Damage or Malfunction Due to Misuse, Negligence, Alteration, Accident or Fire: This warranty does not cover improper repair of the vehicle intentional or unintentional mis-fueling, or use of the vehicle in competitive events.

Note

Please note: You should always refer to the Owners-Manual for correct operation of your Audi, especially if a warning light is displayed.

Damage or Malfunctions Due to Lack of Maintenance: this warranty does not cover failure to follow recommended maintenance requirements as set forth in the service Schedule.

Damaged Caused by the Environment: this warranty does not cover damage caused by airborne industrial pollutants (e.g. acid rain), bird droppings, tree sap, stones, floodwater, windstorms, hail and acts of God.

Other Expenses: this warranty does not cover any incidental or consequential damage, including loss of value of the vehicle, lost profits or earnings and out-of-pocket expenses for substitute transportation or lodging.

Service Record

Introductory note

Your Audi Dealer will mark the appropriate boxes (yes / no) in your service owner’s manual to record and confirm which service work has been carried out including details of the service date and service kilometres.

Your Audi Dealer will also stamp the service record as confirmation that the necessary service work has been carried out in accordance with the Audi Service Schedule.

The service records clearly show what has been done to your Audi. This also helps to retain the value of your vehicle and helps to prevent any misunderstandings, regarding service history.

If you do not comply with these servicing requirements and that causes or contributes to a claim, we may refuse that claim on that basis.

The Digital Service Schedule concept

Some vehicles follow Audi’s Digital Service Schedule Concept. This is a unique way of recording and securing your Audi service history. It replaces the conventional written method and working stamps in the back pages of your Service Schedule booklet.

Instead your vehicle’s service history is stored electronically in a central system and can be viewed by any authorised Audi Dealer. This ensures your service records are accurately maintained and provides proof of service, helping to preserve the resale value of your Audi.

It also optimises dealer preparation and planning at the time of service or a warranty claim. Your Audi Dealer will provide you with a printed confirmation of the services performed at each service.

AudiCareYour Audi Approved :plus Audi comes complete with a right to participate in the AudiCare Roadside Assistance program for the Audi Approved :plus Warranty period. In order to qualify for AudiCare, you must maintain your Audi Approved :plus vehicle as required and at the prescribed intervals outlined in the Audi New Vehicle Warranty and the Audi Service Schedule booklets.

An AudiCare customer representative can identify your needs and arrange the most appropriate service for your situation.

AudiCare Benefits

AudiCare benefits include:Towing / Breakdown: AudiCare will tow your Audi to the nearest Authorised Audi Dealer for repairs, or another service facility where extreme distances may make transport to the nearest Audi Dealer impractical.

Rental Vehicle: AudiCare will provide a rental vehicle for up to 5 days if your Audi is immobilised more than 100km from home due to a warrantable defect and will be immobilised for more than 24 hours.

Accommodation: AudiCare will provide accommodation up to $150.00, for 1 night if you are more than 100km from home and the cause of the breakdown is a warrantable defect.

Towing / Accident: AudiCare can recommend an Audi Approved Panel Repairer, arrange at your cost to tow the vehicle to a repairer after an accident, relay urgent messages and arrange alternative transport at your cost to get you either home or to your destination.

Urgent Message Relay: AudiCare will assist with the cancelation and rebooking of any pre-arranged travel arrangements including accommodation and flight reservations etc.

Not Transferable: Should your Audi be sold after the expiry of the Audi New Vehicle Warranty for your Audi Approved :plus vehicle, AudiCare and the Audi Approved :plus Warranty is not transferable to a new owner. Should you need to update your personal details please contact AudiCare on 1800 818 833 and have your vehicle details readily available.

Note

Please note: AudiCare may be refused to be provided at Audi’s discretion if your Audi Approved :plus vehicle is not maintained as required and at the prescribed intervals outlined in Warranty and the Audi Service Schedule booklets.
