rader, Auburn Journal Under One RoofMerger gives businesses more for their money

Auburn businesses have the chance to get the best of both worlds.The Auburn Trader, which has covered the Auburn marketplace for nearly 30 years, will now merge

with the Auburn Journal, a six-day-a-week publication. Both Trader and Journal advertisers will be ableto take advantage of the Traders continuing direct mail distribution which will cover the Journals non-subscribers as well as appearing in the pages of the daily newspaper to provide an efficient marketingbuy for advertisers.

This move should be a win/win for the advertisers of The Trader and the Auburn Journal expandingtheir footprint in the marketplace. This will allow advertisers to reach the full Auburn market thro ughone buy, said Bill Brehm Sr., chairman of Brehm Communications, Inc. and owner of The Trader and

Journal.The move consolidates the Trader staff into the Journals Downtown office location. Both will remain

separate publications that reach different audiences.The merger does not impact the Foothills Marketplace, which will continue to be direct mailed to

29,000 Grass Valley addresses on a monthly basis.Publisher Todd Frantz said by coming together with these two publications, advertisers will now be

able to reach 98 percent of the market of the 95602 and 95603 Auburn zip codes with more than27,000 copies of both products distributed each Thursday.

This is a positive move for the businesses who want to reach all of Auburn, Frantz said. Theyregoing to get one bill, have one rep and buy at a new, exciting and more affordable rate.

Jim Easterly, Gold Country Media general manager, added that The Trader is a valuable advertisingvehicle in the Gold Country market and will remain so in the future.

Were really happy to combine it as a total market piece in all of Auburn and our surroundingcommunities and we will be able to pass along the cost savings created by this merger to our customers,Easterly said.

The Trader will continue to publish advertising and classified information so its readers can stay up todate with the latest deals offered locally in the mail every Thursday.
