Computer Science• AP Computer Science A / Computer Science ½
Are you interested in learning a programming language? Do you want to learn Java? Do you want to work with mini robots and Minecraft Mods in May? If yes, sign up for Period 0 or Period 1 AP Computer Science A. Within the first month of the class you will decided if you want to take the AP test. If you decide not to take the test, that is OK. You will stay in the class, the class heading will change from APCS to Computer Science. This is a third year math credit.

Are you interested in solving problems, learning a little programming, learn about the internet and the global impact of computing? This is the class for you. This is a third year math credit.

1.Click on the Schedule tab on the left2.Course Requests should display as “now open”3.Click on the “Request Courses” hyperlink on the top right of the screen to select courses for next school year

4. Click on Request Courses5. Use the Search field to look up courses6. Move courses from the Available Courses on the left to the Selected Courses on the right
a. Highlight the Course and click the Add Course button. b. Courses added by mistake can be removed by clicking on a Selected Course on the right and clicking the Remove Course button
7. Keep adding courses until a total of 6 credits are chosen – please verify that year‐long classes have 2 requests selecteda. Preloaded courses cannot be removed by the student

1. Click on Request Alternatesa. The previous courses selected will display in the Selected Alternate Courses listing with an “R” to designate a Request
2. Use the Search field to look up the 2 remaining Elective Courses selected on the hard copy Student school Course Request Form3. Move the Elective Courses from the Available Courses on the left to the Selected Alternate Courses on the right. Regular Requested Courses cannot be removed by clicking on a Selected Course on the right and clicking the Remove Course button.
a. Highlight the Course and click the Add Course button. b. The maximum number of Alternate Courses that can be selected is indicated on the bottom right of the screenc. The alternates should be selected in priority order with 1 being the first choice and 2 being the second choice, etc. d. Use the up and down arrows to change the order of the alternate courses
