The Prophet Muhammad once gathered all the people of Mecca and asked them,

“O people of Mecca! If I say that an army is advancing on you from behind the mountains,

will you believe me?”

All said in one voice,

“Yes, because we have never heard you telling a lie.”

All the people, without exception, swore to his truthfulness and honesty because he had lived an

unblemished and extremely pious life among them for forty years.

HONESTY

Page 28: Attitude

And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].

Surat Al-Baqarah 2:42

“O you who believe! Fear God, and be with those who are true (in word and deeds).”

(Quran 9:119)

HONESTY

Page 29: Attitude

“Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and

righteousness leads to Paradise. In addition, a

man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a

truthful person. Falsehood leads to wickedness

and evil-doing, and wickedness leads to the

(Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till

he is written before God, as a liar”.

(Saheeh Al-Bukhari)

OPTIMISM

Page 32: Attitude

Almighty said,

"Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah. for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Almighty says,

"So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith.“

[Al'Imran: The House of 'Imran: 139]

“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear…” (Qur’an, 2:286).

Don’t get stuck on the negative thoughts . That hardship, that difficulty is absolute test. Allah has strategically put you there. He wouldn’t have allowed it if you

couldn’t handle it.

OPTIMISM

Page 33: Attitude

The Prophet said:

"You should have good hope with Allah

till your death-bed.“

The Prophet also said in a Hadith-e-

Qudsi:

"I treat my servant the way he feels

about me."

PATIENCE

Patience is a great positive behavior, its importancewas not known to scholars until recently, but AllahAlmighty made the reward for patience entranceof paradise without measure.

"…those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure!"

[Az-Zumar: The Troops: 10]

If you bear the difficulties in life with patience and remain conscious of Allah, He promises a way out for you:

“For indeed, with hardship comes ease.” (94:5)

Page 43: Attitude

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said,

"Strange is the affair of the Mumin (the believer), verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks (Allah) and it becomes better for

him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient (Sabir) and it becomes better

for him. And this is only for the Mumin.“

[Muslim]

“Let he who believes in God and the Last Day either speak good or keep silent”

(Saheeh Muslim)

Be moderate in your tread and lower your voice. The most hateful of voices is the

donkey’s bray.

(Surah Luqman, 19) Allah states in the Quran;

‘‘Do not walk upon the Earth with pride, you can neither pierce through the Earth nor

reach the height of the mountains”

Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)

“Whosoever has in his heart, even an atom

of pride he will not enter paradise.”

"Even if you do not commit any sins, I fear

that you may fall into something which is

worse: pride! pride!“
