I hope you had a wonderful festive break and that you are settling back into the routines of the new school term. The children have returned to school full of energy for their learning- it’s been a brilliant week. Safeguarding We take the safety and welfare of the children with the greatest importance. We have a duty of care to ensure that we work closely with families, and have a legal responsibility to share any concerns with the necessary agencies. Our key staff are: Designated Safeguarding Lead Mr Byron Williams (Head of School) Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads Mrs Michelle Everett (Assistant Head) Mr Chris Hansen (Executive Headteacher) Safeguarding administrator Mrs Claire Evans Year 1 at Somers Park, sorting materials Operation Encompass I also need to inform you that along with every other school in Worcestershire, we are signed up to Operation Encompass- a partnership between West Mercia Police and Worcestershire Children First. To explain briefly, “Operation Encompass is a process whereby the police and county council will inform a school if a child or young person has experienced any domestic incident. This will be done prior to the start of the next school day. Information sharing between professional agencies allows school staff to provide emotional and practical support to their pupils experiencing domestic abuse.” Year 1 at Malvern Vale, identifying materials Term dates At the end of this newsletter is a list of the dates for this term.
