Attack the block is a film targeted at young adults aged 15 to 35 as it is a urban hybrid genre and the films leading characters are young teenagers this aids the film makes to target young adults as they as they can relate to the storyline and characters and also would like to see how they are represented within the media

Film Posters are a efficient way to advertise, promote purposes They are a frequent tool of advertisers particularly of events, musicians and filmsAnd as they can be place almost anywhere to attract audiences attention for e.g. Buses, Billboards and online (social networking sites).

Genre Signifies In the Attack the block poster there are lots of genre signifies ,it is important for the film makers to clearly identify the genre to the audience to aid the audience pick the film based on its genre.

On the poster the asteroids falling from the sky gives the film somewhat more of a sci-fi element this help identify the genre for the audience and widens the target audience by making the film a hybrid genre.

the use of teenagers on the poster makes it deliver the urban aspect of the film and also attracts that target audience as they would be drawn to view this film to see how they are presented within the film.

The font and size of the title help create an enigma code which attracts the targets audience a makes them want to go a view the film.

Having A character that dose not suit the mix of the characters and the target audience for e.g. a 21 yr. old female Student helps widen the target audience and appeal to more women.

A motif of grime film posters is to align all the main characters on the poster in order to set up a form of narrative and neatly expose the genre of the film. The characters appear to be almost within a freeze frame of action, which captivates the target audience and evokes a sense of curiosity which may en courage them to see the film. This freeze frame is particularly effective in giving people an insight to the narrative and allowing the audience to almost embrace the action.

By adding a grown 30 yr. old man who is presented a stoner unemployed lazy man this helps widen the target audience as unemployed men what to see how they are represented and also widens the audience with the comedy aspect of his characters role.

The characters on the poster have been conducted to appeal to the target audience by putting all the teenagers together it conveys an image of a gangs which widens the target audience as young people would like to see how they are portrayed.

The film makers constructed the poster to appeal to a wider audience as the characters are all from different ethnic background which suggest that the movie delivers ethnic stereotype which make people want to see how they are presented in the film

The character in the middles Stance suggest to the audience that he is a leading character this helps attack the target audience as it will appeal to the teenage audience

The characters clothing also engages the audience by representing teenagers and widening the audience as the teens what to know how they are perceived.

The use of the low angle shot portrays the block as menacing. This appeals to the audience because it foreshadows upcoming events within the film hence the reason why the block looks so threatening. the visual coding of the block also helps to widen the target audience as people who live in locks and flats what to see how they are represented and perceived within the media.
