GENERAL NOTES

1. THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFIRMING THEEXACT LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING AND RELOCATED PUBLIC UTILITYPLANT (PUP) PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANY WORKS. THECONSTRUCTION TEAM SHALL CARRY OUT THE ROADWORKS IN SUCH AMANNER TO AVOID ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING PUP.

2. THE EXISTING SERVICES INFORMATION SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS HASBEEN COMPILED FROM SURVEY INFORMATION AND INFORMATIONSUPPLIED BY THE CONTRACTOR.

3. CONNECTION OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC WORKS TO EXISTING PAVEMENTTO BE CONSTRUCTED BY SAWCUTTING AND WIDENING AS SHOWN ONPAVEMENT DETAILS DRG. NO. 6016.

4. THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM SHALL ENSURE THAT MEDIANS, TEMPORARYPAVEMENTS, CROSSOVER AND RAMPS ARE KEPT FREE DRAININGDURING THEIR CONSTRUCTION AND USE.

5. ALL PORTABLE SAFETY BARRIER UNITS THAT ARE NOT FLAREDOUTSIDE THE CLEAR ZONE, SHALL HAVE AN END TREATMENT WHICHSATISFIES RMS STANDARDS.

6. ALL PORTABLE SAFETY BARRIER UNITS TO BE INSTALLED INACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATION. WHERE TRITONBARRIERS ARE SPECIFIED AND ARE INTENDED TO ACT AS ACONTAINMENT SYSTEM, THEY SHALL BE FILLED WITH WATER, AS PERTHE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.

7. THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM IS TO ENSURE WORKERS DO NOT ENTERWITHIN THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFIED DEFLECTION ZONE BEHINDANY SPECIFIED BARRIER.

8. THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM SHALL ASSESS AND MANAGEAPPROPRIATELY THE INTERFACE BETWEEN ALL ROAD USERS(PEDESTRIANS, CYCLISTS AND MOTORISTS) AND THE SITE OPERATIONSINCLUDING ACCESS AND EGRESS.

9. ADEQUATE PAVEMENT WIDTH (OR SEALED VERGE) BEHIND ALLPORTABLE SAFETY BARRIERS IS TO BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCEWITH MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS TO ALLOW SAFE DEFLECTIONSHOULD THEY BE STRUCK.

10. TRAFFIC CONTROL IS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RMS TRAFFICCONTROL AT WORK SITES MANUAL AND AS1742.3.

11. ALL SIGNS ARE TO BE SIZE "C" WITH CLASS 1 RETROREFLECTIVESHEETING UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.

12. EXISTING SIGNAGE CONFLICTING WITH THIS TEMPORARY TRAFFICWORKS PLAN ARE TO BE COVERED OR REMOVED. PARTICULARATTENTION SHALL BE GIVEN TO SIGNAGE ASSOCIATED WITH SPEEDCONTROL AND CHANGES IN CARRIAGEWAY WIDTH, SUCH ASOVERTAKING LANES.

13. EXISTING PAVEMENT MARKINGS CONFLICTING WITH THIS TEMPORARYTRAFFIC WORKS PLAN ARE TO BE REMOVED BY BLASTING ,GRINDINGOR SEALING OVER. PARTICULAR ATTENTION SHALL BE GIVEN TODIRECTIONAL PAVEMENT ARROWS.

14. A VEHICLE MOVEMENT PLAN SHALL BE PREPARED FOR CONSTRUCTIONVEHICLE ENTRY/EXIT AT EACH SITE.

15. INTERSECTION AND DIRECTION SIGNS SHALL BE RELOCATED WHERENECESSARY TO BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES.

16. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMPLY WITH THE RELEVANT CURRENTWORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY LEGISLATION.

17. SITE ACCESS GATES ARE TO BE CLOSED AFTER HOURS OR WHEN NOTIN USE.

18. REFLECTIVE DELINEATORS ARE TO BE INSTALLED ON ALL NEWPAVEMENT MARKINGS AND BARRIERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH RMSGUIDELINES.

19. CLEAR VEGETATION AS DIRECTED BY TRAFFIC MANAGER ANDENVIRONMENT MANAGER TO MAINTAIN SIGHT LINES AT HORIZONTALCURVES, DRIVEWAYS AND INTERSECTIONS.

20. EXISTING DRAINAGE PATHS TO BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.21. VMS SIGNS TO BE PROVIDED FOR ONE WEEK PRIOR AND TWO WEEKS

AFTER OPENING ON THE PACIFIC HIGHWAY EITHER SIDE OF EACHINTERSECTION TO ALERT DRIVERS OF CHANGES TO INTERSECTIONCONFIGURATIONS.

SPECIFICATIONS

UTILITY INFORMATION SHOWN ON THE PLANS DOES NOTDEPICT ANY MORE THAN THE PRESENCE OF A SERVICE,BASED ON AVAILABLE DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE. THEPRESENCE OF A UTILITY SERVICE, ITS SIZE AND LOCATIONSHOULD BE CONFIRMED BY FIELD INSPECTION, PRIOR TO THECOMMENCEMENT OF ROADWORKS AND THE RELEVANTUTILITY PLANS OBTAINED BY DIALING 1100 OR FAX 1300 652077 (DIAL BEFORE YOU DIG). CAUTION SHOULD BE EXERCISEDWHEN WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF ALL UTILITY SERVICES.
