So what are atoms, exactly?
Atoms are what make up molecules and molecules are what make up matter and matter is what makes up material! Matter and material is what we and everything else are made of.
An example of atoms making up molecules and molecules matter is:
Water!
Water!

O
O
=
=H2O
• (O=Oxygen and H2=Hydrogen x2)
This is the water mole-cule!
• (H2O=Water)
So what makes up an atom?
An atom is made up of a nucleus (the middle of the atom), and a couple of electrons. (the things that fly around the nucleus) Take these drawings below for example:
(It has been labelled so that you can see which ones are which!)
THE MAIN PARTS OF AN ATOM
ARE: THE NUCLEUS
(PROTONS AND NEUTRONS) AND THE ELECTRONS
WHICH FLY IN THE ELECTRON
CLOUD.
Helium vs. Oxygen
HERE IS A DIAGRAM OF A HELIUM ATOM (BELOW)-
And this is a

oxygen atom

So, the size difference. What is it?
It’s…MOVIE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
