Transportation

An accessible shuttle will be offered by the hotel to guests. Shuttle will run on the following schedule and will take guests complimentary anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel:• Wednesday, October 27: 5 pm - 10 30 pm • Thursday, October 28: 5 pm - 10 30 pm• Friday, October 29: 5 pm - 10 30 pm• Saturday, October 30: Noon – 10:30 pm

Handicapped accessible taxis should also be available on side of building.

• ATIA can provide transportation assistance with groups of 5 or more visiting the Exhibit Hall, including financial assistance.

Session Handouts

• Session handouts are available online in advance of the conference and for three months after the conference.

Way finding

• There will be way finding in the hotel lobby to help blind guests get around.

• There will also be tactile runners in the front of the exhibit hall to help blind people know where the different aisles begin.

Handicapped Parking

There will be additional handicapped parking available near the convention center (part of the hotel being used for all conference functions).

There will be CCTVs to assist guests with magnification of registration documents.

Conference Options There will be refreshable Braille displays at Registration.   Selected online registration kiosks will have screen reader or magnification

software available. There will be CCTVs to assist guests with magnification of registration

documents. Braille Session Notices are posted on the wall by each session room door

and in the Hands On Labs. The Internet Pavilion has computers at wheel chair height.

Sighted Guides

• Requests for sighted guides may be made onsite at the Accessible Materials & Services kiosk located in the registration area in the Adventure Hall Foyer.

• Sighted Guides are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.

• Sighted Guide services are provided at no fee and are usually for a one-hour period. If you require a full-day sighted guide assistance, we regret we are not able to provide these at the conference.

Sign Interpreters

• Requests for sign interpreters may be made onsite at the Accessible Materials & Services kiosk located in the registration area in the Adventure Hall Foyer.

• Sign Interpreters are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.

• Sign Interpreter services are provided at no fee and are usually for a one-hour period. If you require a full-day sighted guide assistance, we regret we are not able to provide these at the conference.

• If you want an interpreter for the duration of the event, you can contact  [email protected] for a list of referrals.

Pet Relief Areas

There will be two designated pet relief areas at the hotel, one will be on the west side of the hotel, on the other side of an access road and the other will be located outside behind the Adventure Hall.

Friday Night Bus Tour "A Night in Chicago" which includes roundtrip transportation

to/from the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and a night tour featuring Chicago's most beautiful attractions.  Departure from the hotel will be on Friday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. 

$30 fee – credit cards used by Oct 22 or pay cash onsite  All participants will have the option of dining at Portillo's or

Maggiano's in downtown Chicago (costs are not included with tour).  Indicate preference on registration.

Saturday Halloween Party

ATIA and Easter Seals DuPage and the Fox Valley Region invite families and their children with disabilities to dress up in costume and join them in Halloween themed activities.

Activities take place from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010 in the Exhibit Hall.

Activities include:  Trick or Treating at the different exhibitor booths in the exhibit hall and a Halloween parade. Pictures will be taken of the children in costume and made available online following the event.
