Athos Makrides, Civil and Structural Engineer Projects/Structural Designs Portfolio in the UK Design Project in King’s Cross St Pancras in cooperation with Arup. Project involved the re-development of an existing series of historical buildings that involved partial demolitions and reconstruction. Design Project of Said Business School of Oxford University in cooperation with Alan Baxter & Associates LLP. Project involved an extension of the original school building with additional facilities such as lecture rooms and theatre. Additionally, I have performed sustainable and renewable energy research with energy saving proposals such as: Geothermal heat exchange, solar panels, solar water heating, natural ventilation systems and rainwater harvesting system. The research results had projected total energy savings (KWh) of 21.45 %, total annual savings £58,811, and 6966 kgCO2/year carbon emissions reduction. RC Concrete Design of a multi-storey building car park with swimming pool on top floor and 3 meter cantilever slabs on each floor. Designed to serve an adjoining shopping centre ( http://www.fridum.co.uk ) Factory Retail Store, design of a steel space frame 75X75 (m) according to specific requirements. This design challenge was also given in IStructE Chartered Examination. Modern steel House (610 m 2 housing and 305m 2 underground parking and offices) RC Concrete Design of a Luxurious resident (1000 m 2 ) . Surveying Project in Christchurch harbour, Bournemouth.
