Our purpose as a women’s athletic department

serving female student-athletes is to…

Provide each woman with a competitive intercollegiate experience

Challenge her physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual growth in a way that values community, self and holistic development

Empower her to achieve enhanced self-esteem and leadership

skills so that she enjoys success both within and beyond her

athletic experience

Participation

In 2012-2013, the College of Saint Benedict had 258 student-athletes in 11 intercollegiate sports.

Approximately 75 athletes participated in two or more sports at CSB. The 258 student-athletes were composed of 86 first-years,

79 sophomores, 48 juniors, and 45 seniors.

S.A.A.C. Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is an organization of student-athletes who meet monthly, representing each of our teams on issues relating to the Blazer Athletics community. Besides these meetings and discussions, SAAC is also involved in many events and activities throughout campus and the MIAC. The special event highlight of the year was co-hosting with SJU the 10th annual semi-formal dance and fundraiser, raising $4,500 for Special Olympics.

SAAC is also responsible for the selection and presentation each year of the Margy Hughes Inspirational Award honoree.
