Athlete vs. Non-athlete Blood Pressure

Research by Quinten Travis

Page 2: Athlete vs. Non-athlete Blood Pressure Research by Quinten Travis.

Introduction

• Blood pressure has been recognized as a principle vital sign and is a criteria for being in good health.

• The purpose of this experiment is to test the direct effect that athletic events have on the blood pressure of athletes.

Page 3: Athlete vs. Non-athlete Blood Pressure Research by Quinten Travis.

• Null Hypothesis: There is no significant difference in blood pressure between athletes and non-athletes.

• Alternative Hypothesis: The blood pressure of athletes is significantly less that non-athletes’.

Page 4: Athlete vs. Non-athlete Blood Pressure Research by Quinten Travis.

Method

1. Participants will be asked a series of questions in order to identify predetermine factors that affect blood pressure (weight, age, height)

2. Participants; blood pressure will then be tested and recorded.

3. Data will be compared and interpreted to determine if the results of the experiment show significant differences between athletes and non-athletes.
