JENNIFER ALEXANDER Research Questions: 1. Does communication through technology increase parental interaction with weekly sight words games? 2. The sub question will focus on will the mastery of sight words increase a student’s reading levels? IS TO PROVIDE DIFFERENT WAYS THOUGH TECHNOLOGY TO HELP PARENTS GET INVOLVED IN THEIR STUDENTS LEARNING BY PLAYING SIGHT WORDS GAMES AT HOME WHICH WILL INCREASE STUDENTS READING LEVELS AT SCHOOL. * QUALITATIVE DATA WAS COLLECTED BY A PER AND POST WRITING ASSESSMENT, PICTURES THE PARENTS SENT IN OF THEM PLAYING THE SIGHT WORD GAMES AT HOME, WEEK SIGHT WORD ASSESSMENTS. *QUANTITATIVE DATA WAS COLLECTED FROM RUNNING RECORDS ON READING LEVELS AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE SIX WEEKS. PURPOSE OF RESEARCH DATA INCREASING PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT WITH TECHNOLOGY WHICH WILL INCREASE STUDENTS READING LEVELS THE ACTION RESEARCH SHOWED THAT COMMUNICATION THROUGH TECHNOLOGY IS EFFECTIVE IN INCREASING A STUDENTS READING LEVEL. FOR THE TECHNOLOGY TO BE EFFECTIVE THE PARENTS HAD TO WATCH THE SIGHT WORD GAMES SO THAT THEY COULD MOTIVATE THEIR STUDENT TO MASTER THEIR SIGHT WORDS. WHEN THE STUDENTS MASTER THEIR SIGHT WORDS THEY INCREASE THEIR READING LEVELS. Conclusion Participants 16 KINDERGARTNERS 8 GIRLS AND 8 BOYS 10 ELL STUDENTS 3 STUDENTS WITH AN IEP
