Russians Vitali Nevski and Artyom Novichonok using the International Scientific Optical Network

• It was first seen in pictures taken by a 15.7 inch reflecting telescope

When first sighted it was 625 million miles away from earth in the constellation of Cancer

It measured 18.8 on the reverse scale

(100,000 times fainter than the dimmest star we can see with our eyes)
