Preface
People associated with the field of Astrology had been looking for abook for a long time which have the collection of the tables used inAstrology. Such useful tables are available at many places but theyare random, their collection at one place is rare. In order to fulfil theshortcomings, a number of tables comprising match making,Varshaphal, Lalkitab, K.P., Numerology, Panchang, MundaneAstrology as well as festivals have been incorporated within the ambitof the book.
The tables of Ascendant and Sidereal time are slightly different fromLahiri’s Ephemeris but extremely correct and easy. If oral calculationis done using these tables, it is also found to be correct to a largeextent. If the birth time converted into Local Mean Time is added inthe values obtained from Table-I only, it gives accurate sidereal Time.For the exact calculation only it is essential to perform all thecorrections.Another important feature of the book is that it has taken 24°Ayanamsha as the basis of calculation which enables us to obtainthe most accurate result because the base year 2010 is nearer tothe 24° Ayanamsha rather than 23°. Most of the books consider 23°Ayanamsha as the basis of calculation.Other additional feature of the book is that it has incorporated theTables of Ascendants and Cusp of Tenth house in 10 minutes intervalrather than 4 minute. Calculation becomes more complex in 4 minutesinterval while it is easy to calculate if the interval is 10 minutes.So, we can conclude that all the tables incorporated in this book aremore correct, clear, easy and from oral calculation’s perspective moreuseful and easy than the tables incorporated in other books.Besides this book These tables have also been incorporated inAstrological softwares Leo Touch and Leo Star developed by FuturePoint also.

The tables of Ascendant and Sidereal time incorporated in this partare slightly different from Lahiri’s Ephemeris but accurate and easy.Using these tables if we do the oral calculations even, it is found tobe accurate to the great extent. If the birth time converted into localMean Time is added in the values obtained from Table-I only, it givesaccurate Sidereal Time. For the exact calculations only, it is essentialto perform all the corrections.Important feature of these tables is that the year 2001 has been takenas the base year and the basis of time for the Sidereal time is takenas 00:00 hrs. in place of 12 noon. This enables us to escape fromthe calculation whether the birth time is before or after 12 noon, dueto this it is not required to calculate the difference from 12 noon andfor that period no need to get the correction of sidereal time. We justneed to calculate directly as per the birth time.Another important feature of the book is that it has taken 24°Ayanamsha as the basis of calculation which enables us to obtainthe most accurate result because the base year 2010 is nearer tothe 24° Ayanamsha rather than 23°. Example-1Calculate lagna and tenth house for the native born on 12th June 1987 at 3.55PM in Calcutta.
Answer- First of all calculate sidereal time of birth with the help of Table one.
Sidereal time for 12th June 2001 = 17h 20m 39s
Correction for 1987 (Table-2) = (-) 02m 24s
Sidereal time at noon on 12 June 1987 = 17h 18m 15s
Correction for Calcutta = (-) 04s
= 17h 18m 11s ..........(i)
Now we will change the birth time which is 3.55 PM into Local time. Longitudeof Calcutta is 88° 30' and longitude of standard meridian of India is 82° 30'.Thus difference between standard meridian and meridian of Calcutta is 5° and50'. As earth rotates one degree in 4 minutes so we will multiply it with 4. Theresult will be 23 minutes 30 seconds. As the meridian of Calcutta is ahead ofstandard meridian of India this will be + 23° and 30 minutes.
IST of birth = 15h 55m 00s
LMT correction = +00h 23m 20s
LMT at birth = 16h 18m 20s
Refer table 4 for sidereal time correction.
Sidereal Time correction for 16 hrs = + 02m 38s
Sidereal Time correction for 18 min. = + 00m 03s
= 16h 21m 01s ..... (ii)
Add equation (i) and (ii) as the birth time is after 12 in the night.
Value of Equation (i) = 17h 18m 11s ......(i)
Value of Equation (ii) = +16h 21m 01s ......(ii)
= +33h 39m 12s
Sidereal time of the epoch(after - 24 hrs) = 09h 39m 12s
Method to Calculate Lagna

Difference of lagna for 9 minutes 12s =552 s =132' x 552"600"
