Foreign National Requirements: The only building into which foreign nationals are allowed unescorted is Building 101. For those attending the E54.09 Response Robots Subcommittee meetings and demonstrations, entry into Buildings 207 and 215 is only allowed with escort by a NIST staff member.
Wireless Internet Connection
When you are on the first floor of Building 101, your personal device should detect the wireless network and give you the option to connect to the “NIST-Guest” network.
To use the service, connect your non-NIST device to the “NIST-Guest” wireless network, open an Internet browser, review the presented Access and Use Agreement, and click Accept. Although it enables Internet access from your personally owned device, please remember that the network is monitored, and use must be appropriate for a professional work environment. Should the NIST campus be closed due to weather or for any other reason, the contingency plan is to hold all meetings via WebEx only. In the event that a delayed opening occurs due to weather, meetings scheduled during the delay time period will be cancelled and rescheduled. When the delay ends, meetings scheduled for that time will begin, and the schedule for the remainder of the day will be unaffected. NIST Status Line The NIST Director has the authority to close the site due to unsafe conditions caused by weather or unforeseen circumstances. If the situation warrants, please call the NIST Status phone number below for announcements about the site status: (301) 975-8000 or 1-800-437-4385. NIST site
