It is designed to assist our school in gaining an understanding of parents' perception of school climate, student
engagement and relationships within our parent community. Our school will use the survey results to help
inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
The survey will be conducted online by ORIMA Research Pty Ltd and only takes 15 minutes to complete. The
survey can be accessed via desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile at any convenient time within the
fieldwork period from Monday 7th August to Sunday 27th August.
Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year's survey. All responses to the
survey are anonymous. Parents who have been randomly selected and invited to participate will receive a
letter the week beginning Monday 31st July.
Together with other surveys undertaken by the Department, the Parent Opinion Survey reflects the Education
State target "Happy, Healthy and Resilient Kids". The refreshed survey builds on the framework established for
the new Student Attitudes to School Survey and is aligned with three of the key priority areas:
1. Excellence in teaching and learning
2. Positive climate for learning
3. Community Engagement in Learning
The Survey results will be reported back to our school at the end of September. The Survey results will be
communicated to parents through the annual reporting process.
