Similarities Differences1. They both start of with a mysterious beginning, leaves the viewer questioning, full of enigmas.
1. In Cabin in the woods, a group of young people are introduced, whereas in gone girl a married couple is introduced.
2. Both films have a strong underlining meaning or enigma, this leaves the viewer guessing and engages them to watch further.
2.They both start in very different ways. Gone girl starts in a calm and collected way, whereas Cabin in the woods starts in an excited and energetic way.
3. Both have a slight undercurrent of uneasiness which increases as the film goes on, this prepares the viewer for the extreme climaxes at the end of both films.
3. Setting and surroundings are very opposed. Cabin in the woods is based around a road trip holiday, whereas Gone girl is set in a quiet town with very little occurences.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM AN OTS?WE EXPECT VARIOUS QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED ABOUT A FILM WHEN WE WATCH AN OTS.WE CAN BE MADE TO SEE, HEAR AND FEEL MANY THINGS THAT THE DIRECTOR WANTS US TO SEE, THIS IS SO THAT THE DIRECTOR CAN SET THE TONE AND SCENE FOR THE REST OF THE FILM TO HELP ENGAGE THE VIEWER.WE ALSO EXPECT TO GRASP A GENERAL IDEA ON THE THEME OF THE FILM TO HELP ENGAGE THE VIEWER.SOMETIMES, AN UNDERCURRENT FEELING CAN EMERGE WHICH MAKES THE READER QUESTION THE ENDING.WE ALSO EXPECT TO SEE SUITABLE FOR ALL OF THE PRODUCTION COMPANIES AND CAST.
