ASSIGNMENT 12: PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

TASKBy Debbie Marques

Page 2: Assignment 12

What is the preliminary task : Used to get used to the cameras Mini test before starting real filming Be aware of all the editing programmes Have a slight image of how it will be when filming Start to get glances of how to work with each button

zoom in , zoom out long shot, mid shot, close-up shot, etc Where to place the tripod to get the image/shot we

want

Preliminary task

Page 3: Assignment 12

Successful example

Wide range of shots closeup shots, mid shots

Light was appropriate and very clear to see

Good ideas such as the zooming of the angry face.

Level 3

I would give this a level 3 as I thought it was satisfactory due to:

Page 4: Assignment 12

Poor example

Light very dark which makes facial expression not as clear.

Image shaking quite a lot should of used a tripod at this point

Editing not very successful as the cuts were not continuous. Goes from one image to another completely different.

Level : 1

I would give this level as the basic points that they were expected to cover they did not. Such as :

Page 5: Assignment 12

Use a tripod when needed Make sure the setting has enough light Make facial expressions clearer Use a wider range of shots Pay attention to editing Make each shot continuous so it has a flow

Targets for poor example

Page 6: Assignment 12

From other preliminary tasks i learnt although it is not the real opening sequence we cannot take it as a joke

Use wide range of shots Pay attention to facial expressions Plan the exact place where filming and if it is

appropriate (lighting) Be very careful with the editing (make sure it

has a flow)

What have I learnt?
