What is Netiquette

• Etiquette is the proper / accepted conduct in social life

• Netiquette refers to the Rules of Internet

courtesy

Netiquette (Avoid Negative Behaviour)

Avoid “Shouting” = Typing all text in capital

letters

Do not use crude language (vulgarities etc)


Do not insult others


Flaming = posting hostile messages on the internet

Remember the rules of courtesy

•Respect others !

•Do not hurt people’s feelings.

•Use smileys to indicate feelings.


Think about what is posted

• Is it too provocative & intimate?

• Be responsible for your actions!


Respect other’s time and privacy

• Send information to relevant people.

• Do not share yours or friends information

with strangers, without permission.
