April was a busy month with the Easter Celebrations here in Bali. I hope you all had a great Easter holiday.

In this month Bali celebrates its Ubud Food Festival from May 27-29 where local restaurants, products and Indonesian cuisine are showcased.

Ubud was nominated No. 3 of the Travelers Choice Top 10 Destinations in Asia and No. 10 worldwide recently. Definitely worth paying Ubud a visit with its pristine nature, rice terraces, villages and temples.

And we would also like to introduce the new Katamaran Hotel in Lombok as well as the new Karma Reef Resort in Gili Meno. Also the newly renovated and re-opened Plataran Komodo Beach Resort found its way into our HOTELS section. More details in this News Bulletin.

We are introducing a new kid on the block. KM Bidadari is a new vessel operating out of Labuan Bajo harbor in Flores and caters to FIT’s and GIT’s. With plenty of space on board and cozy cabins the KM Bidadari is a luxurious boat if you want to discover the Komodo National Park and its surrounding islands. More details in our CRUISE section.

In the HR section in this News Bulletin we start to feature our teams. The first person we would like to introduce is Bagus, Manager of our Golf Division.

And I am also continuing to introduce you my all-time favorite Indonesian recipes. In this edition you will find the recipe how to make a Bakmie Goreng.I hope you enjoy reading our latest News Bulletin.

Little is known about the Sasak history except that Lombok was placed under direct rule of the Majapahit prime Minister, patihGajah Mada. The Sasaks

Lombok was conquered by the Gelgel Balinese kingdom in the early 18th cen-tury bringing a large population of Balinese to Lombok. The Balinese popula-tion of Lombok today is about 300,000 or 10-15% of Lombok’s population. The Balinese have also strongly influenced the WetuTelu religion of Lombok.
