Q&A
Asia Rising. Key drivers for growth and why Asia’s workforce presents a huge opportunity.
1. 3 out of the top 10 world economies: China (2), Japan (3) & India (7), with South Korea and Australia anticipated to join the ‘trillion dollar club’ by 2020.
2. China & India had the highest rate of GDP growth out of all global emerging economies between 2000-2013.
3. According to UN working population (aged 15-64) projections, by 2050, India and China will collectively represent double Europe’s population and almost three times the population of the USA.
4. Asia Pacific and China collectively account for as much share of global wealth as North America, surpassed only by Europe.
5. Singapore & Hong Kong are the APAC headquarters for 489 of the Forbes Fortune 500.
Assessing challenges • Be realistic about the challenges Asia’s variability presents
• Not homogenous but there’s a way to navigate it. • Get ready it’s not going to be the same as US and EMEA or the APAC country you’re already in • Varies through industries and categories – not one size fits all, depends on the nature of your
organisation
Assessing value:• How will you asses your program’s value
Overview of Program and expansion into Asia • Business case for SAP Fieldglass • Investing in challenging market like Asia
Strategic Deployment for Rapid Results• Nokia deployed SAP Fieldglass in phases, organised by country clusters with
overlapping time zones. This repeatable framework helped the company create buy-in for later deployments as the program’s success led to increased country-by-country stakeholder support.
Program benefits in Asia • Increased visibility and efficiency across its global operations throughout Asia. • Japanese labour market engagement and compliance.
