Worship: Expectation and Manifestation
In the month of February we will continue to look at the ways in which we “manifest the gifts of the spirit for
the common good” as named in I Corinthians 12. We will look at individual gifts, some that can easily
recognize and some that seem beyond what we know or understand within the church. Come, find your gift
and ways to share it!
Wedding Shower
Join us on March 1 after worship as we celebrate the upcoming
wedding of Eva Gebel and Rich Rowlands! We as a community will
gather around them to prayerfully and thoughtfully help them
prepare for their marriage. Please bring a new kitchen utensil for the
couple to bring to their new home and a small potluck item.
Wedding Invitation
The wedding of Eva Gebel and Richard Rowlands will take place at
the Kirk on Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow.
Everyone is invited. The couple is requesting RSVP’s no later than
March 30. RSVP’s and a registry can be found on their wedding
website here.
February 2: Manifesting Miracles
I Corinthians 12:4-10, John 2:1-11
February 9: Manifesting Discernment
I Corinthians 12:4-10, I Kings 3:9-10
February 16: Manifesting Prophecy
I Corinthians 12: 4-10, 2 Peter 1:12-21
February 23: Manifesting tongues and interpretation
After worship around noon on February 16 we will gather in the Community Room over shared snacks and discuss our book: The Great Spiritual Migration by Brian McClaren. We will be discussing chapters 7 & 8. Whether you are reading with us or just want to join in on the conversation, all are welcome!
Theology on Tap
On February 16 we will gather at Brightmarten (730 South University)
from 4-6 p.m. to discuss the theology of division. As our United
Methodist siblings approach a denominational split, we will discuss
Christian Unity and division. Where is God calling us to unite and where
is God calling us to divide? Or is this all human action and not the hope
or call of God. Join us! Childcare is available at the Kirk.
Conversations With Scripture
Each Tuesday we gather in the music room from 2-3 p.m. to engage with our
holy text. In February we will continue studying the first book of the Bible:
Genesis. All are welcome to join us!
Faithful Adulting Movie Night
February 22 our faithful adulting group will gather at Rev.
Selena’s house for a potluck and movie night watching a doc-
umentary on water as part of our Green Justice Year of Wa-
ter. We will gather at 5 p.m. for dinner and will wrap up the
night by 8 p.m. Children are welcome. Please RSVP to Selena.

Church Camp at La Foret!
The Rocky Mountain Conference UCC offers many opportunities in Outdoor Ministry every summer for
children through adults! Check out all that is happening this summer. And don’t let the prices scare you off –
the Kirk will help with up to ½ of the fee per camp.
Grandparent and Me: June 26-28
Open to grandparents and grandchildren ages 5 to 11 years old, Grandparent & Me camp is designed to
strengthen the special relationship between grandparents/grandparent surrogates and their grandchildren.
Pioneer Camp, July 5-11: Entering grades 2-4
At Pioneer Camp, campers will play, swim, hike, sing, eat, make crafts, hear stories, and make new friends in
the Black Forest at La Foret! Pioneer camp is designed with first-time and young campers in mind.
Explorer Camp, July 5-11: Entering grades 4-6
Explorer Camp provides youth entering grades 4-6 with an opportunity to be part of an incredible
community! Campers will explore the Bible, faith, nature, friendships, and their own beliefs. Activities will
include campfires, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor games, free time, rope course, and worship.
Voyager Camp, July 5-11: Entering grades 6-8
At Voyager Camp, youth are invited to come with an open mind, a fun spirit, and a friendly attitude. We seek
to create a memorable week filled with laughter, music, ropes course, hugs, and friends. Youth will form
memories and friendships they'll hold dear for the rest of their lives!
MADD Camp, July 12-18: Entering grades 9-12
Our theory at Music, Art, Dance, and Drama (MADD) Camp is that we can get in touch with God through the
arts; however, all artistic skill-levels are present and welcome at MADD Camp. Along with engaging the youth
in intellectual faith conversations, we attempt to get them “out of their heads” and into experiencing the
transcendent through creativity, nature, friendships, self-discovery, games, activities, and LOTS of fun.
Summer Church Camp (already!?)
It is still very cold outside, but it is time to mark your calendars for
UCC Church Camps this summer July 5-11 for those entering
grades 2-8! Each year our number of campers has grown, last year
we sent eleven kids! We are committed to ensure every child who
wants to go is able to. This year kids interested in going to camp
will be participating in two fundraisers! First they will be hosting
our first annual Kirk’s Got Talent on March 21 as well as a
fundraiser in the spring.
