Objectives of UTP-ASA 1. Foster positive reinforcement and enhance total well-beings of ASEAN Students.
2. Create a strong network of ASEAN Student platform in UTP.
3. Enhance friendship, integration and co-operation beyond boundaries among ASEAN youths.
4. Discuss on issues from each country related to youths and provide effective solution to implement in the community.
VisionTo achieve a united network from diverse perspectives by empowering youths who aims for a positive reinforcement.
ASEAN STUDENT FORUM 2019 (ASF’19) is a four-day international
forum for youths and top intellectuals from leading Universities and Colleges
within the ASEAN and East Asia region. Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS –
ASEAN Student Association (UTP – ASA) organises the forum annually where
it focuses on reinforcing the ASEAN identity by creating a platform of
discussion with regards to the implications of the ASEAN Integration Initiative.
It aims to boost ties between ASEAN students, with the goal of integrating
different ASEAN communities into one diversified entity.Throughout the forum,
several discussions will be held regarding the students’ sectors and fields of
interest with respect to the changes, issues and effects brought about
by ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Cooperation.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established on January 10, 1997.
This university was built by PETRONAS, an Oil And Gas company, on behalf of
the government. UTP offers a wide range of engineering and technology
programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, for both foreign and
local students and strives to produce graduates with excellent leadership and
communication skills. The campus is situated in the beautifully landscaped
environment, with trees, plants and full of greeneries. The lake in the campus
adds beauty to the serene surrounding of the campus. The calmness of the
lake and the area surrounding makes it conducive for students and an ideal
place to study. UTP is in the top 100 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds)
University Rankings in Asia and has the longest internship period of any other
Universities in Malaysia (duration of 8 months), to provide real life experience
and exposure in the real world. Along with its 6 - Star Rating (Outstanding) by
the Rating for Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia (SETARA), UTP
produces well rounded students which are wellrounded and better equipped
to be in the workforce.

The UTP-ASEAN Student Association was established in 2016 and aims to
achieve a united network from diverse perspective by empowering youth who

Guidelines
Malaysia is a country well-known for its diversity of cultural, races and religions, where the Malays, Chinese, Indians and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony with respects towards each other religions and beliefs. The Malaysian is a society which celebrates their differences and share the joy of their festivity such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year and Deepavali together as one unity. Malaysia is also a country famous for its delicious foodwhere the spices use to prepare the meal can be mouth-watering. In Malaysia, the common language used by the locals is Malay language. Malaysian are also able to speak well in English for any international interaction and are frequently used in university lectures. The Weather in Malaysia exhibits a tropical type without extremely hot temperature. Throughout the year, the average weather temperature range between 20C to 30C. The main rainy season at the west region of Malaysia is in August while as for the east region will be in November until February.

Guideline: Misc.
Visa All delegates are responsible for their own visas. Please check if you are required to apply an entry visa to enter Malaysia. However, for most ASEAN countries, you may obtain Visa on Arrival at the immigration. Kindly show your printed Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and printed return flight ticketto the immigration officers. Organising committee is not responsible if you fail to obtain an entry visa to Malaysia. The expiry date of your passport should be less than 6 months prior to arrival at KLIA.
Security1. You are not allowed to change rooms with your firends without permission from organising committee.
2. We highly discourage members of the opposite gender to meet each other inside the hotel rooms.Delegates are only recommended to meet in the lobby or public areas.
ProhibitionSmoking, drinking and gambling are strictly prohibited at all times in the hotel and inside UTP campus.

Electricity In Malaysia, the power sockets are type G (3-pin plug socket). The standard voltage is 240 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Kindly bring your own 3-pin plug connector to charge your devices.

Transportation Guide
The organisers of ASEAN Student Forum 2019 will provide airport transfer service on August 26th and August 30th.
On August 26th, participants are advised to reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) before 12 noon.
The estimated scheduled time of departure from the KLIA 2 to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS is between 12 am to 2 pm.
The specific time of departure will be announced to the participants soon.
As for participant arriving at other airports or stations, they must make their way to KLIA 2 which will be the main and only meeting point. No transportation will be provided for pick up other than the above said location.
For participants who come before or after the designated event date, ASEAN Student Forum 2019 will NOT have responsibility for their accommodations and transportations. However, the organising committees will provide any assistance if necessary.
