Ascent will conduct a meeting and develop the brief with your management team.
PHASE 1: RESEARCH PHASE 2: CANDIDATE SELECTION
Submission of candidate longlist for Client review with interview notes and recommendations. The search can then be finely-tuned and the shortlist finalised.
Rigorous confidential search of all Ascent, Adrem and Client professional networks. Ascent will produce suitable attraction campaigns and directly approach targeted individuals. Ascent will run personal pre-qualifying interviews and thorough screenings.
HOW WE WORK
PHASE 3: NEGOTIATIONS PHASE 4: ACCEPTANCE
We will facilitate negotiations and review any restrictive clauses in the candidate contract.
Commence working relationship.
Ascent will facilitate interviews with the Client and preferred candidates. We will provide feedback from both parties post interview.
Successful appointment.Notice period begins.

CASE STUDY
BARTON WILLMORE SUCCESSION PLANNING CASE STUDY
The Assignment
In May 2015 this 350 strong Integrated Town Planning, Urban Design and Architecture Practice began planning for the succession of their retiring London Architecture Partner and after interviewing 4 search firms Ascent were appointed to manage the project.
The Solution
24 months in advance of the retiring Partners departure date Ascent scheduled a 2 month research and screening program, reviewed 40+ candidates, shortlisted 12 and in consultation with the client took 5 candidates forward to interview stage.Following informal candidate meetings with two Partners a 3 stage formal briefing and interview process culminated in with the two finalists presenting to a panel of eight Partners early in November.
The Result
Having made an offer, the lead Partner, Managing Partner and Ascent Director Steve Rimmer held a final meeting with the successful candidate to agree the T&C’s career progression and timing.
Contracts were signed and a commencement date for April 2016 was fixed, allowing for a 12 month handover. A positive outcome for fresh energy and market knowledge to enter the Partnership, driving future growth & diversification.

Hedeel AljezairySenior Consultant A fully qualified Architect with over 9 years practice experience in the commercial design sector, followed by 5 years recruitment experience within the creative design industry.At Ascent, Hedeel is primarily focused on both UK and international based senior end roles, working with industry professionals within the Architecture, Interiors, Construction and Business Support sectors.

Kate has 20 years’ experience providing HR and psychometric profiling advice to companies in Construction, Architecture, Real Estate & Property Development. A former HR Director for one of the worlds largest Architecture firms, Kate is a fellow of the CIPD and has been a successful Training & HR consultant since 2003. She is a regular speaker on the Workplace HR circuit, an authority on succession planning and an advocate for women in construction.

David is a registered Architect with 5 years’ professional experience. Combining his industry knowledge with his love of people, he has transferred his skills to the world of recruitment. David is a principle consultant on the Ascent team,sourcing senior level staff to enable practices to create an effective talent management culture within design studios all over the world.

Having qualified with a BA Hons in Architecture and worked in practice, Katharine has used her training and industry experience to supplement her architectural recruitment career. She has previously worked in Sydney managing Education and Recruitment programs, and has now joined the Ascent team covering senior appointments both in the UK and globally.

Peter Nowlan specialises in leadership, teamwork, and presentation coaching. He has worked with a number of architectural practices and given one-to-one coaching to hundreds of architects. Professionally qualified as a Business Coach by the CIPD, Peter holds degrees in Philosophy from Nottingham and Oxford, and is a member of Faculty of the School of Coaching in London.
