As performed by Cyndi Lauper Time After Time Words and Music by Rob Hyman and Cyndi Lauper Arranged by Patrick Roszell PROGRAM NOTES This classic ballad, performed by Cyndi Lauper and co-written with Rob Hyman, has stood the test of time. Lauper’s debut studio album, She’s So Unusual, had several hits including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “She Bop.” Time After Time was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1985. Having great success on the charts, it became her first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks. In addition, Time After Time has been covered by many other artists and still resonates as much today as it did when it was first released. PROGRAM NOTES This arrangement should be approached in a straight-ahead pop, ballad style. Percussion 1 can be played by two players: one on snare drum/hi-hat cymbals and the other on bass drum. It can also be played by one player on drumset if a suitable instrument is available. As always, feel free to adjust tempo and dynamics to suit your ensemble and performance venue. I have enjoyed arranging Time After Time. Best wishes for a successful performance!
