Question 1 (40 marks)

• Spend 60 minutes on this question.• You will be asked to textually analyse one or two

audio-visual pieces.• You will need to use Media Terms to comment

on:• Generic conventions• Narrative construction• Technical Codes – camerawork, editing, mise-en-

scene, sound. • Language used & mode of address

Question 2 (30 marks)

• Spend 45 minutes on this questiona) You will be asked to simply identify representations in the print material (4 marks / 6 mins)b) The second question will ask you how the representations have been constructed in the stimulus material. (10 marks / 15 mins)c) The final question will ask you to make reference to your own detailed examples, and explore the representations of the set topic in media today. (16 marks / 24 mins) (or audiences for the texts)

Question 3 (30 marks)

• You will be asked to write an essay style response on either how audiences are targeted / respond to texts you have studied.

• OR you will be asked to write an essay style response as to how representations of the topic has been constructed in your case studies. (30 marks / 45 minutes)
