AS Media evaluation question 7.
William Jones
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learned in the progression from it to full product?
I’ve learned a lot during the process of making my pre-lim task to my main task.
I’ve used Photoshop for both pre-lim and main task but my skill on Photoshop has improved by far.
I’ve learned how to use magic wand to remove backgrounds from images rather than just using an eraser tool.
Using magic wand to remove
backgrounds
Using blending options for text.
What I have learned.
In the process of creating my magazine I have learned how to use many online facilities such as; dafont.com for fonts on my magazine.
I’ve learned how to use layers more effectively on my magazine, and I am now able to use blending options for my text, this gives the magazine more of an authentic feel.
I feel as though the images on my pre-lim task don’t have as much of an effect as the images on my main task, probably due to good use of editing.
Overall understanding.
Overall my understanding of Photoshop, iMovie etc have improved greatly throughout the process because at the start of the year I had no experience whatsoever with things like Photoshop and I had no clue how to use any tools or blending options.
I now have a greater knowledge now of media institutions and the conventions of magazines and also how to produce a good quality magazine.
You can clearly tell that I have developed and improved my skills by comparing my finished main task and preliminary task.
