Branch-based banking transactions on the decline:(BL dt. 20.02.2015)
Customers are fast moving to Internet and mobile platforms for their banking transactions and the once-popu la r branch-based banking is on the decline. The increase in t ransact ions on these alternative channels is in the range of 20- 40%, as revealed by the third quarter numbers of key PSBs. SBI saw a steep increase in Internet users from 1.65 crore in the third quarter FY 2014 to 2.10 crore as at 31.12.2014. The compounded annual growth rate of Internet banking users for the biggest public sector lender was 36% during December 2011-14. The pace of mobile banking use too had gone up by 65% in the same period. Bank of Maharashtra expects to see 75% of its transactions in alternative channels in the next 18 months; they are about 45% now.
"Coimbatore is truly a Cosmopolitan city where peope of different ethnic backgrounds, languages and faiths live together and add value to the city’s culture and economy. Coimbatore is not only safe but has been made stronger because of its diversity. But we, the citizens, should reach out to others among us who feel alienated.”

Leaders are increasingly expected to have a strong social media presence. Yet many still view social media as a broadcast channel, not as a way to connect. To become a truly social leader, start using it to listen to your customers. Social monitoring and engaging with followers is the best way to collect real-time market intelligence. Focus on connecting instead of promoting. You want to be spreading the good word about your company while also interacting with others and answering questions from concerned stakeholders. So put down the digital megaphone and think about building relationships. You're also building your personal brand whenever you engage on social media, and, as the company's number one brand ambassador, you can also improve the company's image. Be authentic and generous.

In which position do you sleep?
If you sleep on your stomach or on your left side, you are putting pressure on your heart with the extra body weight, while the heart has to continue pumping blood as usual.
This additional burden wears the heart out more quickly. Think about it - you spend more than one third of your life sleeping!
To reduce the strain on your heart, sleep on your right side, or on your back. This simple technique will add years to your life.

High Achievers and What they DO?My dear Readers,
In the cover page of this issue, you might have read about the valuable qualities of our Arutchelvar and the encomiums paid to him. He said, "I have been a Gandhian all my life and as such, I have never expected anything in return for whatever I have done." Very true!
He was one of the greatest high achievers, our country can be proud of. His life has been a big lesson for all of us, to read, emulate, adhere and implement.
This year, in his memory, more than 1000 students were recognised for the scholarship, prizes, medals and outstanding performance. Rightly, a grand "Maha Mandapam" in Dravidian architectural style, portraying the lives of Arutchelvar Dr.NM, Mahathma Gandhi and saint Vallalar, is being put up at KCT campus. Photos on these events appear elsewhere in this issue.
There are 3 basic things that guide us to success. They are the foundation for achievement, peace of mind, and personal satisfaction. They are so simple that we tend to forget them and in our desire for something more complicated. Success is based on the following principles which were practiced by Dr NM..
1: Core Values.
2: Your Long-term Goals and Priorities.
3: Your Short-term Projects.
4: Your Daily Musts.
These are the four important ingredients that make life worthwhile. They are the lists that high achievers keep close to their hearts and on top of their desks. They are the lists that guide their actions and inform their efforts. They may be written on simple note paper, but they are fundamental to creating and living the life we truly want. Let us draw inspiration from Arutchelvar's life and become high achievers.
With Best wishes,
Editorially yours,

Dear Balu,
I received the latest issue of Kriyasakthi, yesterday and what caught my attention is the message carried on page 1. I'm extremely delighted & proud to be aware that SFL has reached yet another golden milestone of attaining Rs.1,000 Cr. Asset Size!
Kudos to your able Visionary Leadership style, backed up by the seniors in the Board, directions set by Senior Management Team, which includes Velusamy, Natesan and others, apart from the fantastic and consistent efforts of the entire SFL Family. The journey from racing to 100 Cr., Go Gold 500 and now culminating to the phase of achieving 1,000 Cr. Asset Size, is absolutely commendable. Your message which also includes stepping away from the 100's into the 1000s, aptly captures the progress of the organization.
Having been associated with SFL in multiple interventions, to enhance your employee engagement activities, certainly I share the pride of this growth streak that you all have achieved. It'd be my honor to share this inimitable achievement, both while I interact with your employees in future programs, as well as potential participants of other corporate clients, to inspire & motivate them!
Here is to scale further peaks, to take organizational excellence to the next higher leagues, which are just round the corner, in the months and years to come. Wish you and the entire team SFL, all the very best to aim, celebrate & internalize, further laurels! Cheers & affable regards!

Are you in the habit offorgiving others?
Sometimes leaders fail to establish guidelines for innovation because they believe that creativity is
all about giving people freedom. But if you don't specify what kind of ideas the business will actually
invest in, you'll end up with a lot of ideas to reject. For better results - and fewer disgruntled
employees - direct your employees toward problems that are relevant to the business and tell them
what kind of ideas are most likely to receive management's support. Explain the type of outcome
people should aim for. For example, are you looking to increase market share or improve quality or
simplify a process? And give people an indication of what a "good enough" idea is - e.g., a target
year-one revenue number or a required minimum percentage for improvements. Don't forget to go
over any limitations and no-go areas, and provide a time frame for creating results.
Set clear Goals when you ask employees to Innovate

If you can keep your head when all about youAre losing theirs and blaming it on you,If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,But make allowance for their doubting too;If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,Or being hated, don't give way to hating,And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;If you can meet with Triumph and DisasterAnd treat those two impostors just the same;If you can bear to hear the truth you've spokenTwisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winningsAnd risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,And lose, and start again at your beginningsAnd never breathe a word about your loss;If you can force your heart and nerve and sinewTo serve your turn long after they are gone,And so hold on when there is nothing in youExcept the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,If all men count with you, but none too much;If you can fill the unforgiving minuteWith sixty seconds' worth of distance run,Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Answers & Analysis of your Forgiveness IQ
The following is a rough guideline on what your score means:
15 or Lower - You are a Forgiveness Genius: Congratulations!
16-29 - Strong Forgiveness Competency: You have given yourself the gift of forgiveness and you usually stay positive.
30-49 - Moderate Forgiveness Competency: You have some work to do on becoming less negative and stuck in past resentments.
50-69 - Moderate Forgiveness Impaired: A difficulty with forgiveness has limited your ability to stay positive and live fully in the present
70-84 - Severely Forgiveness Impaired: Consider seeking professional help to give yourself the gift of forgiveness.
85-100 - DANGER ZONE: A lack of forgiveness impairs your mental health. Seek psychological help.
The questions for this quick test identify the major stumbling blocks people often have when overcoming resentments, grudges and their own self-recriminations. Some major points to take away from this quick quiz are that forgiveness is a skill you can choose to develop; an inability to forgive holds you back from living a happy and healthy life; being unforgiving makes you a prisoner of your past, and forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself.
For the self-recriminators, work on forgiving yourself for not having the foresight to know what you now know in hindsight. We are all works in progress, and it's time to let yourself off the hook and build on your regrets rather than live in them. Life is all about evolving and learning. If you made a mistake in the past, learn from it instead of living in it. Those who are defined by their past can not immerse themselves in life at present.
For those hurts from the past, make the choice to let lessons learned deepen you instead of weaken you. As you work on these points, take this quick test occasionally so you can remind yourself to keep on working to boost your Forgiveness I.Q!
