STRATEGY I

Story Basket TheatreThe teacher tells interactive stories using objects. Children participate through call and response; giving suggestions for

sounds, words and gestures; and offering story ideas.

STRATEGY II

Teacher In RoleThe teacher assumes a “role” such as Mother Goose. Children are guided to

respond in role by taking a viewpoint, solving problems and creating stories as they interact with the character.

STRATEGY III

PuppetryThe teacher uses a puppet to tell stories and play “in role.” Children interact

with the puppet through questions, chants, creating story and story and solving problems.
