• Draw The Same Thing From Multiple Angles

A good artist doesn’t just copy. A good artist simplifies, deconstructs, reinterprets, and understands his subject matter.

• STEEPS:

Choose one or several things and try to arrange a composition, e.g. using books, toys, fruits, plants and flowers etc.

Draw it using a soft graphite (at least, pencil 2B . Charcoal and coloured pencil are available too).

Not less than four drawings from different angles and positions.

Picturing the Nature on your own way

• This exercise is about NATURE: youhave to create a composition on yourworksheet mixing several colours andtechniques (pens, coloured pencils,charcoal, inks, watercolours, acrylics,etc…)

• It can be figurative (realistic) or abstract.

• Topic: Lanscapes, plants, flowers, fruits,urban scenes..

• Apply changes of size, contact,separation, transparency, overlapping,intersection, penetration, contrasts ofpitch.

a)Draw a simple sketch pointingthe parts of the face explained inthe classroom.

b)Practicing the portrait usingyour classmate as a model.

c) Draw your self portrait.

First, you have to divide adrawing worksheet into fourparts. In each part you willcreate a different version of yourself portrait, for example, oneusing dots, another one usinglines, others applying severaltechniques... (black and whiteand in colours)

Colour schemesDivide your worksheet into 18 parts in this way:Three lines of six squares (2,5 x 4 cm)VALUE SCALE-Start with a hue colour, MAGENTA, and add little by little, WHITE colour. The 6th. colour must be WHITE ( slightly pink)TONE SCALE- The first colour must be a primary colour, CYAN, and you have to add little by little, another primary colour like YELLOW to obtain finally in the last strip a secondary colour, MEDIUM GREEN.SATURATION SCALE-In this case, the first colour will be YELLOW. In order to lose its purity, you will mix this primary colour with the complementary, PURPLE. The last strip obtained will have a neutral tone, very close to brown or black.
