What will I be doing?Each 9 week course in central St Albans will
focus on a specific art form, from visual arts to
creative writing and drama. This is not one to one therapy - it is a chance to
explore your feelings and develop your self-confidence alongside others in
a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The sessions are led by experienced professional artists and there will be a
mental health support worker on hand.
Why should I do it?Studies have shown that taking part in an arts
activity has a positive influence on mental
health and general wellbeing. It can increase
self-esteem and confidence, reduce feelings
of isolation and give those involved a sense of
personal achievement.
