2009 EVENT JOURNAL
April 30, 2009
Dear Friends,
The Jersey City Museum greatly adds value to our City in their ability to present art and transform lives. It is a dynamic center of cultural life for the people of Jersey City, Hudson County and the region. The installments of historical and contemporary art engage and inspire a diverse range of audiences by pursuing an innovative program of exhibitions, education, publications, and collections activities. In supporting the work of contemporary artists, the Museum is also embracing the challenges of the new and unexpected, and offers insight as to how each visitor sees, thinks and engages in the world.
Jersey City Museum is vital to our city’s growth and prosperity and in supporting its efforts, we enable them to continue their mission by offering cultural experiences and providing programs that make art more meaningful and accessible for our community.
In supporting the Jersey City Museum’s 6th Annual ArtRageous Ball fundraiser, we are working together in a common goal to spread artistic prosperity by supporting the most important elements any culture has to offer its future generations… the arts!
The Jersey City Museum serves and belongs to our expanding community. As they continue to grow and are doing more every day, your support becomes vital to their cause. I encourage everyone to visit and enjoy all they have to offer.
I also commend the Jersey City Museum for offering programs of value and meaning to our community. I wish you continued success and hope you all enjoy this wonderful event.
Sincerely,
Jerramiah T. HealyMayor

FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
We welcome you to the sixth annual Jersey City Museum’s ArtRageous Ball!
Whether it’s your first time here or you’ve joined us before, you should know that the Jersey City Museum is doing great things. The Museum continues to provide an exciting venue for local residents and visitors to see the finest in contemporary art. Furthermore, we have thousands of young students visit us every year to learn and appreciate what art can do for them and society. And let’s not forget our active programming for seniors, artists, and families.
Thank you for coming tonight and we hope that you will participate in our raffle and our auction. To the artists that have graciously donated their works to be auctioned and to the donors of our luxury prizes, we are indebted for your generosity.
An event such as this is the culmination of a lot of hard work. We thank our ArtRageous Ball Committee, our staff, and the volunteers who have given unselfishly of their time and creativity.
And we would like to extend a special thanks to our sponsors, especially knowing that this year has been a challenging one for all us. That you have chosen to be here this evening speaks volumes of your support for the community, for the Jersey City Museum, and for our fair city. Take a moment to look through this journal to note the names of our sponsors and, if you have a moment, acknowledge them for all that they have done.
On behalf of all of us involved with the Museum, enjoy the evening!
