A or An (The indefinite articles)

1. A or An is used before a singular noun which is countable. It is used when mentioned for the first time and represents no particular person or thing:Examples:i) I need a pen.ii) They live in a flat.iii) Encik Sahlan bought an ice-cream.

2. The is used when we talk about a particular thing.Examples:i) Razali wears the red T-shirt every Sunday.ii) Let’s go to the library.
