Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain inherentlimitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do

not represent actual trading. Also, since trades have not actually beenexecuted, results may have under-or-over compensated for the impact, if

they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation isbeing made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses

    similar to those discussed.

Increasing the MinScore value will cause the ART

Pyramid Trading Point system to identify only the

higher scoring Peaks and Valleys. Lowering thisvalue will cause the ART Pyramid Trading Pointsystem to identify lesser scoring Peaks and Valleys.

Setting this to 1 will result in Major PyramidTrading Points being identified that are less

constrictive in nature, while a setting above 5 will bemore constrictive.

Under perfect conditions, the HIGHS and LOWS ofthese bars would ascend smoothly up and down like this:

    Perfect Pyramid

    Score 8

NOTE: This diagram is for illustrative purposes only.

The following pyramids would get scores of 7, 6, and5 respectively, because the shape of the pyramidgets progressively more ragged as the HIGHS andLOWS fall out of line.

    Score 7 Score 6 Score 5

The MinScore input controls the minimum scoreand therefore how Well Formed the Pyramid Trading

    Point

must be before it is selected by the software.A value of 0 is very tolerant and it will allow manysmall pyramids. A value of about 4, 5, or 6seems to work best. Values of 7 and 8 are veryselective, and so there are only a few qualifying points. Thisleads to some fairly large pyramids.

    ARTPyramidProgram Operation

The ARTPyramid program file operates in a specificmanner that is important to understand. PyramidTrading Point formations are drawn as YELLOWpotential pyramids when they are in a PRE-CONFIRMED or PRE-VOIDED state. Most of theNEW Pyramid Trading Points(on the right side of

the chart) will appear in YELLOW until they areCONFIRMED or VOIDED.

Once these YELLOW pyramids are CONFIRMED, theywill change colors (to either RED or GREEN) and aP (Primary) or MP (Minor) label will be assigned

to them. These CONFIRMED Pyramid TradingPoints are signals that have resulted in a potentialtrading action (Buy or Sell).

NOTE: P = Primary Pyramid Trading PointMP = MinorPyramid Trading Point

    PTP = Pyramid Trading Point

If a YELLOW pyramid is VOIDED (doesnt result in atrading action), it will disappear from the chart. OnlyCONFIRMED pyramids will remain.

NOTE: In fast markets, there may not be enough time

to label a potential pyramid YELLOW. In this case, aCONFIRMED GREEN or RED Pyramid TradingPoint will form without warning.
