Guided Drawing
and Painting Classrooms 306, 310 and 311 recently completed
the winter themed guided drawings/paintings
seen at right and below.
The students were verbally and visually guided
through the drawing/painting process, touching upon
a few of the elements of art, including shape
(geometric shapes—triangles, squares, and rectan-
gles) and line.
Landscape Assemblages Although the snow is still falling and temper-
atures still dip down to the single digits, stu-
dents have started to look to sunny skies and
green grass. They have been creating as-
semblages that depict a spring landscape.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary gives
the definition of assemblage as:
“an artistic composition made from scraps,
junk, and odds and ends (as of paper, cloth,
wood, stone, or metal).”
