Overall winners and your 2019 Member/Member Champions are Karen Weicht and Jackie Klein for the Women’s division and Bob Keating and Jack Scappaticci in the men’s division.

Jack Scappaticci, Bob Keating, Karen Weight & Jacki Klein Congrats to all the winners and a big thank you to all who participated!! Night golf was a huge success again this year, 56 golf club members teed it up in the dark and had a blast! If you have not played glow golf before, you are missing out. We all met back in the Crown and Shield after golf for some social time. This is one of my favorite member only events, I want to thank all of you for playing!! The winners of glow golf were Bob and Ann Enloe!! Club Championship is right around the corner, sign-up sheets are out, make sure to sign up asap if you have not already. Member Guest is six weeks away, we have a full field with 128 players and a few teams on the wait list. MMGA-Mike Russomano

The new officers are in place and taking care of their respective duties. There are new things happening now that all members need to know. There is a new way of signing up for the Wednesday morning MMGA games. You

will be invited to play through an email from Steve Bryan through the Golf Genius Software that we use to set up the pairings. Steve has already sent a couple of messages so If you didn’t receive them, we need to know immediately so we can check your email. This new method will eliminate the sign-up sheet we currently use and is a better method to be informed of special events such as tournaments and meetings. Some MMGA events coming up include: **Stroke Play Championship and Dinner Meeting on March 20th **Ringer tournament with day #1 on April 17th. and day #2 on April 24th

Watch for details Also, for those who are here all summer, we will try to have a Shootout Tournament similar to what the women did last summer. Details of this will also follow. In regular news, the Wednesday games have been well attended and we will be publishing weekly winners in this newsletter every month as well as the Saturday Gold Tee group. Speaking of which, there was quite an unusual situation on Saturday February 16th. There were not one but two holes in one on that day. Tom O’Rourke had one on hole #11 and Rich Page on #4. Congratulations guys! MMGA-Golf Committee-Vince Laverghetta The winners of the winter session of Men’s Monday Match Play are John Buono and Henry Maguire in the Nicklaus division and Rich Page and Keith Patterson for the Palmer division. The session featured an eagle on #6 by Bob Keating. The low round of the session was a 69 shot by Vince Laverghetta and the low net round was a 60 shot twice by Jim Dubsky.

The format of the matches is two-person teams playing against each other featuring individual matches and team points using 100% handicaps. March is going to be a busy month. On March 7th we have our "Beat the Pro" Golf and Pizza Party....are you ready Craig?? There are 40 ladies already signed up for this event, so it should be a fun day. Then, March 14th is day 1 and March 16th is day 2 of the annual Women's Club Championship. This is a Gross and Net two-day tournament, so if you haven't already done so, please sign up. Our regularly scheduled net games for March will be: --Beat Par (1 point for every net score below par) (Mar 21) --FONE (Count only holes that begin with F, O, N, E) (Mar 28) ... this is "Like Handicap Thursday" when all "A" players play together, "B" players together, etc. Terry Stephenson - Superintendent We put some new irrigation on #4 Black tee to help water coverage. We will be putting out some coquina at the entrance and exits of cart paths to help with cart traffic. We will be putting out our 2nd application of fairy ring control on greens. We will also be putting out our 1st pre emerge application on greens. We are also spiking and Sanding (and hand watering) some weak areas on greens. We have raised the height of cut on fairways to help give more density of grass. Please remember to keep carts “IN” fairways as much as possible to help the Bermuda in the roughs.

Also, want to thank Bob Keating for pressure washing the bricks on holes # 9 and 10 - look like new. Gardens are looking good as I have been hiring Kathy from maintenance to help keep the gardens weed free. (Donations accepted to help offset the cost.)

The golf ball money is going to help replace some of the plants this spring... course is looking good.
