In this visit, Dr Rahbar expressed hope that the session would be an introduction to expansion of ties between the two universities. Referring to UT ties with over 150 universities all around the world, UT President expressed joy on establishing ties with another university like the Istan- bul University. Then the Istanbul University President talked about the university and said the university was ready to cooperate with UT. Algiers University President Visits UT On May 29, Dr Tahar Hadjar, Algiers University President visited UT President. Showing his satisfaction over being present at UT, Algiers University President said he was very glad over being at UT after 6 years and he hoped it was a good chance to continue the cooperation between the two universities. He also talked about common grounds for coopera- tion, including exchange of professors and students, holding common courses, giving scholarships and holding common congresses. Welcom- ing the suggestions presented by Algeria University President, Dr Rah- bar said he hoped it was a good base for expansion of ties between the two universities. Armenian Science Minister Visits UT President On May 22, Armenian Science Minister and Ambassador and some of- ficials visited Dr Rahbar, UT President. In this visit, expressing his joy on the presence of the Armenian delega- tion at UT, Dr Rahbar gave a short explanation about UT and said he hoped the visit would be a start for cooperation between UT and the uni- versities of Armenia. Then, Dr Armen Ashotyan said their goal by the journey was to detect cooperation fields between the universities of the two countries. He added he hoped that they would be able to utilize the academic capabilities to strengthen the ties between the two countries. Zanzibar Education and Professional Skills Minister Visits UT President Heading a delegation, Dr Harun Sulaiman, Zanzibari Education and Professional Skills Minister, visited UT President on May 31. In this visit, Dr Rahbar said UT was ready to cooperate in fields needed by Zanzibar. He also said UT is ready to educate academic staff, espe- cially in the fields Physics and Mathematics, and send a team to Zanzi- bar to activate in required domains. Then Dr. Sulaiman said they were very joyful to be at UT and hoped UT would be able to help Zanzibar to solve the problems.
