ARKANSAS GAE Friday, May 2, 1986 SEVEN NAMED TO SWIMMING HALL OF FAME: Seven initial enshrinees for the Arkansas Swimming Hall of Fame were announced Thursday by Jerry Heil (right), co-chairman of the Hall. The seven, Keena Rothhammer, Pat Miles, Jimmy Miller, Bob Courtway, Jud Bryan, Pat Riley Sr. and John Brooks, will be inducted May 24 at the Little Rock Hilton Inn. Joining Heil for the announcement were Eric Lippman (leſt), marketing director for the Hilton, and LRRC swim coach Paul Blair (center), with Heil a co- chairman of the Hall. Rothhammer was Arkansas's first Olympic -Staff Photo by Ge Presco gold medalist, winning the 800 freestyle in 1972; Miles was a go medalist in the 1,500 freestyle in the 1971 Pan American Game Miller, to be honored posthumously, was the founder of Miller 1 s Swim Gym; Courtway, the athletic director at Hendrix College, is a longtime collegiate and amateur coach; Bryan was an early leader and supporter of amateur swimming in Arkans; Riley is e founder oj e Lile Rock Racquet Club and a driving force behind the club's age-group swimming program; and Brooks was an early supporter and coach of age-group swimmers.
