The preschoolers and their parents were presented with an interactive adventure showcasing various career options from becoming a doctor to an astronaut. Los estudiantes de pre escolar visitaron el Intellizeum, el museo de aprendizaje de Head Start el 19 de abril, 2017. Los estudiantes y sus padres participaron en una aventura interactiva de diferentes carreras profesionales tales como medicina, ingenieria, periodismo y tambien como astronauta. On Friday, April 21, 2017, migrant graduating seniors were honored for their hard work and achievements. Students celebrated their graduation with a sit down dinner and an inspirational keynote address by Educational and Environmental Justice Speaker, Erica Fernandez Zamora. The top exemplary students from all Region 19 districts were recognized with a special gift. Ronaldo Lopez, Cathedral High School graduate was this year’s Valedictorian and Neida J. Espinoza, Clint ISD was this year’s Salutatorian. Other recognized students were Magda N. Paredes from Anthony ISD, Amanda Delgado from Canutillo ISD, Angie Diaz from Clint ISD, Paola G. Garcia from El Paso ISD, Gabriel Gonzalez from Fabens ISD, Paula Padilla Flores from Ft. Hancock ISD, Lizbeth Perez from San Elizario ISD, Nidia B. Rodriguez from Socorro ISD, Claudia A. Barraza Hernandez from Tornillo ISD and Fernanda B. Ontiveros from Ysleta ISD. El viernes 21 de abril, 2017, los graduados fueron honrados por su arduo trabajo y sus logros con una cena donde Erica Fernandez Zamora, activista ambiental y de justicia social, les dedicό unas palabras de motivaciόn. Se reconocieron a los estudiantes mas brillantes con un regalo, como Ronaldo Lopez de Cathedral High School como Valedictorian y a Neida Espinoza de Clint ISD como Salutatorian. Intellizeum Career Visit
Migrant pre-school children visited the Intellizeum, an ESC-Region 19
Head Start learning facility on April 19, 2017. The preschoolers and

Los estudiantes de pre escolar visitaron el Intellizeum, el museo de
aprendizaje de Head Start el 19 de abril, 2017. Los estudiantes y sus

Saturday Workshops Focus on Preparation for EOC and STAAR Exams
SSA Parent Training
On Wednesday, May, 10, 2017, our SSA’s were invited to participate in a parent training
given by Joe Velasquez, published author of the book “Pursuing Success: Stories that
Inspire”. A speaker with Mike Rodriguez International, and a Certified Speaker, Coach,
and Teacher by the John Maxwell Team Company. His message was about the power of
giving back, in dreaming and thriving in every aspect of life.
El miércoles 10 de mayo, 2017, los padres de familia participaron en un taller ofrecido
por el orador Joe Velasquez, de Mike Rodriguez Internationl y autor del libro “En
búsqueda del éxito: historias que inspiran” y entrenador y maestro de la compañia y el
equipo de John Maxwell. Su mensaje fue sobre el poder de dar, de soñar y mejorar en
todos los aspectos de la vida.
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, the Migrant Education Program held academic instruction for
various grade levels. Fifth and 8th graders were offered Math and Reading, 7th graders
participated in Writing, and high school students participated in English I & II enrichment
workshops. On Saturday, May 6, 2017, 8th graders attended a Social Studies camp and high
school students took part in a Graphing Calculator class. Students’ weaknesses and skills were
targeted and with guided instruction and hands-on group activities they were able to gain
knowledge and strengthen their testing skills.
El sábado 25 de marzo, 2017, el programa de educaciόn para migrantes ofreciό instrucciόn
académica para los esudiantes de 5o y 8o grados en matemáticas y lectura. Los estudiantes de
7o grado participaron en escritura y los estudiantes de preparatoria, en inglés I y II. El
sábado 6 de mayo, 2017 los estudiantes de 8o grado asistieron a un campamento de ciencias
sociales y los estudiantes de preparatoria participaron en la clase de calculadora gráfica. De
esta manera se enfatizό en las necesidades individuales de cada estudiante para re-enforzar
sus conocimientos y mejorar su probabilidades para las pruebas estatales.
On March 10, 2017, parents and their pre-school children were invited to participate in a class to
promote healthy habits. They participated in educational activities and received materials to help
them become better teachers to their children through the use of self-help techniques and simple
recipes. Fruit and cracker pizzas and a “butterfly that will not fly away” were made as healthy,
fun snacks to show that these treats are not only fun to make, but delicious and nutritious.

educativa para promover hábitos saludables. Trabajaron con materiales y frutas con los cuáles
aprendieron a ser mejores maestros para sus hijos a travez de simples recetas y técnicas de
