Sublime cuisine comes from the kitchen of culinary director Ben
McPherson and executive chef Matt Wommack along with fantastic
cocktail options. !e building was built in 1912 as the Isis !eater,
Houstons "rst silent-"lm theatre. It now hosts live music with a
twist every !ursday through Saturday night. Come for the classic
torch songs in addition to vaudeville-esque numbers with everything
from aerial acrobats to magicians to burlesque dancers.
AVERAGE COVER/TICKET PRICE? On !ursdays, its just $10 to $30
depending on your seat choice, and you can order dinner from the
regular menu. Friday and Saturday its $17 to $54 plus a mandatory
$45 three-course prix-"xe menu.

Part of a small chain there are three other Sambucas in
Nashville and the Dallas area this down-town hot spot has live
music seven days a week plus vast bar o#erings and a huge menu with
every-thing from small plates to entrees. !e sophisticated music
line-up includes local blues/soul greats like Yvonne Washington,
rock bands and even some fun cover bands.

spending about $21 per person for food plus $1 per person for the

For 25 years, !e Duck has provided Houston with regional and
national acts in an intimate Irish pub setting tucked away o# Kirby
just north of Hwy. 59. !e music falls primarily into the realm of
folk and Ameri-cana-styled singer/songwriters, but many of the
performers are tough to categorize. (Regulars include Shake
Russell, James McMurtry, Bob Schneider and the Austin Lounge
