HOW TO GET STARTED 1. Register online as a NEW teacher leader at http://www.educatorsrising.org/. It’s free and you will find MANY resources here! a. Once you’re registered, visit the Educators Rising High School Resources link to find multiple links to activities, resources, recruitment, tips and more! 2. Contact the New Mexico Educators Rising State Office at [email protected] to indicate your interest in becoming a Teacher Leader. You will need to complete the following documents, which you can find on our state website: a. Chapter Bylaws – many schools will require you to submit these to your activities director in order to be considered a student club or organization at your school (https://educatorsrisingnm.nmsu.edu/starting-a-chapter/chapter-resources/) b. Active Chapter Information Packet – this document has multiple tabs to complete and provides a framework for what you will do during the first year (https://educatorsrisingnm.nmsu.edu/starting-a-chapter/teacher-leader-resources/) 3. EXTRA or CO-Curricular? Decide whether you will offer Educators Rising as an EXTRA- curricular organization or a CO-curricular organization, taught as part of course.
